Cred-o-Meter

ESPN's Page 2 uses the following to assess Street Cred for NBA players.

Here is your Cred-O-Meter scoring key:

WH = Wild Hair
T = Tattoos
U = Urban Upbringing
P = Police Trouble

————————–

Smackie gets a .5 out of 4.

WH - no
T - one, but it's not outwardly visible (half point)
U - no
P - no

I have no street cred and am not marketable. This is crushing to the ego. :(
I have wild hair every 6 months before I get it cut.
But you can *gain* points by lying about any of the above. Say you went to Wilson HS in DC. Say you got busted every 3 months as a juvenile (so the records are sealed). There you now are at 2.5. Just work on that hair and you got it.

The question is, how many people are now simultaneously creating a 930 Club board member credibility chart?
I have some wild hair, but it's not outwardly visible. Well, wait, do wild eyebrows and excessive ear and nose hair count?

Guess I get the point for my two tattoos.
WH .5 depends on the humidity and time between haircuts.
T 0
U .5 Lived in Motown until jr high and after college. although it probably should be negative since the family move to Grosse Pointe.
P 0

no cred no marketability no action with the ladies for me. i'll just go be a wanker.
I have no cred, but does that Michelle Jordan fella have any cred on that scale? Still doesnt stop him selling shoes, does it?
I have run 12 marathons and once did a 10K in a very respectable 38:46. Anyone want to buy a pair of worn out running shoes from me?

Different market. Apparently, being the best isn't enough anymore - the inner city kids need to relate to you or something.

However, that didn't stop Beckham from choosing Jordan's #23 as his new number for Real Madrid, now did it? Posh's people had better start getting David some street cred right quick….oh wait, probably a different market for soccer than for basketball.

Err what, are you trying to say inner city kids dont wear air jordans anymore? I think you had better head down to the inner city from your suburban pad. Hell in footlocker it seems like it is 80% nike and half of those are jordans.
No but i spit on a mime while wearing them.

Only the retro Jordans are selling these days. The sale for the new Jordans was way down compared to KG, T-Mac and Allen. That's why Nike threw $90 Million over 7 years to Lebron while the current best player in the NBA, Kobe Bryant, got $5 Million less per year.
Is being "pretty" considered a good thing for men to be?

I'll take pretty girls, but spare me the pretty boys.

He may be pretty, but he aint handsome.

No. You simply have to appear that you are down with the ghetto crowd so that the suburban kids who like to believe that they're gangstaz buy up all your goods. The inner city kids don't help the bottom line.
The inner city kids just steal all their shit anyway.
