I'm really, really glad that Ben decided to do this tour. It was fantastic to hear some of those songs, songs that one would normally never hear. I've never seen The Postal Service, so it was great to hear those. And since I've seen Death Cab seven different times (five of them in Seattle), it was nice to hear Ben give some of their songs a different perspective. I was at the early show, by the way, though I wouldn't have minded catching the late show. It's just that I live nearly two hours away. :)
DC did not get the cover of Mountain Goats' Palmcorder Yanja! Now, I don't feel so bad about missing the show :) :D

So I was rather looking forward to his set, and the crowd pretty much ruined it.
Originally posted by nonameface:It resulted in a pretty funny moment, though, when Ben got that really confused look on his face and then, quite casually and matter-of-factly, repeated "F*ck yeah." into the mic.
(And the guy yelling "F yeah!" at a pivotal point of a song. That's like achieving too soon. Totally ruined the moment.)
Yeah, Ben did turn it into a funny…I thought he responded in question form as if he thought the moment was slightly ruined as well.
In the end, it was an enjoyable show and overall, the crowd was pretty tame and gracious.

I was at the late show, and I agree with the earlier poster that the crowd was annoying the living shit out of me.
After I was able to get past the posse of girls with cell phones who must have taken 500 pictures each of the show, I was right behind those previously mentioned drunk frat boys.
These dumbasses were dead center, probably six people from the front and could do nothing but giggle about how "gay" the show and Ben were, and yell out stupid shit.
Ben sounded great. Absolutely great song list (we looked like giants! Woohoo!) But the crowd was totally ruining the show for me. I found myself wondering what the reaction would be if I'd have dragged out hecklers in a chokehold :op Oh, and Ben told the guys yelling "for the next three songs, just shut the fuck up." Should it really come to that?
Oh, and "Jim's" cameo on stage was very awkward. I think the whole crowd was like "eh? is that who I think it is? huh?" and then Jimbo was gone.
