Make that "Fast Hands"

in hopes of keeping the show length to a minimum?

My favorite is Public Pervert.

Unfortunately, they haven't been playing it on their current tour.

Uh-Oh, once they become big, then everyone starts hating them cause everyone else loves them. Get ready to find another small idie type group to follow…..until they get big of course. :)

It's a never ending cycle.
Yeah…sadly, that DOES tend to happen, except in the case of Radiohead. It's a fine balance, very few bands can retain credibility, be the darling of the critics, and still keep their fans interested (and in Radiohead's case, rabid). I hope Interpol can do it, they're a damn fine band.
This Antics record is a strange one indeed.
I think I'm getting a little obsessed with it.
I can't quite figure out why I'm liking it so much.

I think it's a subtle change from Turn on the Bright Lights. All the classic Interpol sounds are there - the guitar tones & song structure changes. Yet it's very different - not as immediately catchy. The melodies are not as obvious. But I think upon repeated listens it may even be a better record. It's edgier - almost kinetic. With a lot of rewarding hidden depth. I think it's a classic example of one of those albums that demands an investment from the listener.

kurosawa-b/w - I've got tix for the 9:30. I'm also going to get tix for the 11/11 show in NYC. Unless the opener for Friday 11/12 turns out to be someone brilliantly persuasive.
Grotty, you hit the nail on the head there. I have been listening to Antics and TOTBL back to back, and I am liking Antics more. You're right, it's not as immediate. But there are more undercurrents, more of a chemistry happening…a tension that carries the songs and adds weight. It's almost a little bit of an unsettling record because there is a darkness to it, but at the same time the music is very rewarding. I remember I got this feeling when I heard the Red House Painters rollercoaster LP. This is music that is made by people who really treasure what they do. They understand the whole point of why you make records…everyone I have talked to has agreed that there is something very special about Antics. It reminds me of a relationship that starts off very strange…you don't know what role the person will play in your life, but you want to explore that and the more you do, the more it intrigues you. I have a strong feeling this will be my favorite thing released this year.
Simply put, the album is aural crack! ;) And it passes the headphones test…so many layers.
There's a contest on the band's website to win tickets to a "secret" show at the Bowery Ballroom this Sunday (10/10).

I think they played Length of Love in Boston instead of C'mere. I would rather hear C'mere since we got Length of Love on the last tour.

Believe it or not, the Philly show next Sunday isn't sold out. So if you're up for a short road trip, that's an option.
looks like i'm gonna be yelling for "stella" at the show.. that song is my favorite and i had heard they'd been playing it now it seems they're not…

It was listed on the setlist for the Tempe show as the second encore closer, but apparently, it wasn't played.
