Duran Duran Last night in OC

My same sister from the Dropkick Murphy's post and numerous other family members saw Duran Duran last night in OC. She called me last night about a dozen times (rubbing it in because I was supposed to go home for that and didn't)and from what I heard through the cell phone, they were pretty tight.
She had a blast and said they played all of their greatest hits, the new stuff is shite (she recommended a pee/beer break) and that their cover of Grand Master Flash's "White Lines" is still one of the most bizaar covers of all time. She wasn't sure whether to laugh or cheer, but couldn't stop singing along nonetheless.
Her final word - if you like 80's music, this is as much a "not to miss" as the Psyche Furs or Echo. If they play out here, you should check them out - Duran Duran were brilliant.
SMACKIE NOTE: TRL factor at an all time low. Lot's of "older women" in clothes they shouldn't be in, but a lot of hot MILF's too. If you're in to chicks aged 35-50, this is the place to be. And as reported by my cousin, lots of guys in pirate costumes with half buttoned up ruffled shirts and lots of chest hair from the Rio video, what ever that means ladies.

Speaking of the '80s and Southern California, there's a rumor that this year's Inland Invasion will feature The Cure and New Order.

I often see a black homeless guy near the Columbia Heights metro who wears a Morrissey t-shirt. The other day, he had apparently changed to a t-shirt that had David Bowie, Brian Eno, and some other guy on it. Or maybe it wasn't him, but his homeless Britpop loving buddy.

Are you just trying to show off that you gave all your old britpop t's to good will?
that would be a terrible name for a band though……

I still have my Cure "Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me" t-shirt buried away somewhere.
I swear I heard the guy whistling "Frankly Mr. Shankly" the other day.

That's a far cry from last years greatest punk show of all time.
