There may be no purple line to Dulles?????

I don't think Metro currently has any lines in rural VA, nor are they planning any.

Metro needs to build a dual-track system in the urban core, like New York City has, before it considers building any more lines in rural Virginia.
slow-talking yokels and streets named after Confederate heroes = rural

where is that?
dc has "public transportion" to dulles.

if you're thinking of a paddington to heathrow non-stop equivalent, good luck with that.

alot of cities have airports that are far out in the burbs, but whether you like or dislike dulles is fairly immaterial to the argument. the dc area needs public transportation to the airport, and it needs to ease congestion in the dulles corridor and especially tysons corner. if anything they should take it out to purcellville because thats the way the burbs are heading
So Crystal City is rural?

God gave you two legs. Getting off at East Falls Church and switching for the Washington Flyer isn't that much work. The Silver Line would have nine stops from East Falls Church to Dulles.

do you read posts? i said that just going to the airport is not the only reason for the silver line, easing conjestion in the dulles cooridor is the other. its not cut and dry if its just the airport, and frankly i see a better argument for all of those offices in the tysons/reston/herndon/dulles area needing metro service than the airport. and i live in sterling, so i either catch a ride or cab it
do you understand precision in language? saying "dc needs public transportation to the airport" and including "tysons/reston/herndon/dulles" in "dc" is a stretch. what you meant to say is people who live in "tysons/reston/herndon/dulles" need a publicly funded train to dulles airport to entertain your theory that those same people will give up their cars or car service or bus service to get there.

first of all if we're talking about wmata, how is it a stretch to talk about an area serviced by that authority as being dc? you made the right assumptions, so obviously you knew what i was talking about, except you left out the people that work in tysons/reston/herndon/dulles, which really is more important than the people that live there (and i dont see how "i see a better argument for all of those offices in the tysons/reston/herndon/dulles area needing metro service" is unclear)
One good thing about a silver line – it would make it easier for the hayseeds to bring their produce into the city's markets…
since some people here want wmata to spread like cancer, why not have a line out to amish country, so they can bring in amish pies on "public transportation."

Or the negroes to get to their security jobs at dulles

right right, you live in the city, screw everyone else. you sold me, i'd hate for farmers in ashburn to infest your city. metro should be for only native washingtonians. heaven forbid we should try to make the dc area better
WMATA provides *bus* service, aka "public transportation," to dulles, tysons, etc:
