The only $1 show I ever went to was Beth Orton with Kelly Willis. They just don't get artists like that for $1 any more.

I wonder if Sonick still thinks Evanescence is a fantastic band?

Hahaha…I was bored and digging through old threads a while ago and came across this one. I thought about bumping it for that exact reason but decided to spare him the embarrassment.

Goddamn, remember when all the telco companies were going buck wild with those 10-10/collect numbers? What ever happened to that business model?

I was actually at that 1.01 Evanescence show. It was cheap, and I had been intrigued by their decent mix of piano/nu-metal. And the lead singer had an amazing voice. The show itself? Pretty crappy. The redeeming feature of the band was their willingness to soften up and thrown in classical-style piano, and live there was no piano whatsoever. Just bland nu-metal guitar sound. The lead guitarist had a major attitude. Even though he came down and was signing autographs directly after the concert, he was acting like God's gift to concert-goers, not like some (at the time) barely known band.

I remember the artists were introduced by a WHFS dj, who received quite a few boos.
He introduced Beth Orton and Kelly Willis as if his station actually played their music.
