well i did wonder about the price of it and gizmodo sowed a new seed of doubt. would also need a new tv to work with it. the problem is i would like a media center pc now, been thinking about it for a least a year… but it always seems the right technology is just around the corner or the price is a bit dear. grumble grumble grumble

Check out a panasonic plasma. Most folks think they are by far the best in terms of bang for the buck.

That's a great set. I just tried to pm you but your box was full. Can't go wrong with a panasonic commercial display if you've already got a surround sound setup and a cable box.

I cleared out my PMs - I do have a cable box but no surround sound - any thoughts?

I'd highly recommend this system … I have last year's 6.1 version (bought it refurbished 'natch) and the sound is amazing… plus Onkyo has an offer right now where they'll give you a free DVD player when you order it, not to mention free shipping, and another $10 off the entire total when you register (which is free)… basically, you get a 7.1 system and a DVD player for a grand total of $440, not too shabby
