Like the rhetoric spewed by conservatives regarding Clinton and consentual (though inappropriate) fellatio was really redundant…
Somehow an international war seems like a bigger deal, though.
Of course the decapitation was appalling, and I've heard a LOT of talk about it; it's not being ignored.
Now, if a militia group from the hinterlands of Michigan were to retaliate against an Iragi citizen of the U.S., should that be viewed as an act of the United States? I think that's an equivalent example, as we know there are those U.S. militia/terrorist groups in existence.

Do you EVER have anything good to say about America, be it its government, its people, or even its music?

im sure youre actually glad this abuse occurred so you have more to whine about.
the libs are really blowing this out of proportion for political gain…which im sure the republicans would do if the dems were running things in washington.
as i recall an internal investigation was started months before these pictures were put out to the public.
now post another whining rant…

I think some intelligent points could be made supporting the conservative case (I'm too much of a lefty to make them), but you sure as hell aint making them.

I think I'm going to have to stop commenting on this subject on this and other boards. I just get more incensed. Plus, I feel badly because it *is* bad shit going down. Truth is, I know very little about such things and I probably should not comment at all. Sorry everybody.

Two things here – one, you keep referring to "outrage" as if we're making it all up. Regardless of your political beliefs, this is a very black and white issue. Though my gut feeling is that conservatives will continue to spin this as some sort of liberal conspiracy, which just further displays what's wrong with this country's political system.
and two, about these investigations… we could go round and round about whether the american public should be made aware of said investigations, but don't you think congress, the lawmakers of this nation, should be informed? Perhaps if the administration had explained that there were some wrong-doings (course you don't feel they were wrong) and that they were checking into them, as opposed to not saying anything (hmm… wonder why they did that?) we wouldn't be where we are now.

You doodles are too busy blaming the left or right for shit, you lose track of the facts.
Since when was Iraq the 'enemy' SHisIT? I thought you went over there to liberate them?
America has been the self proclaimed "human rights" nation of the world, so of course everyone is going to jump all over them when knowledge of the abuse became known, the big fucking hypocrit that America has now become.
The people who cut the dudes head off weren't even in Iraq until America occupied the place. They arrived because Americans invaded.
The dude was told to leave the country for his own safety, he didn't so must take some responsibility for his own demise, which doesn't take away from the brutality of his death.
People say that Al Quaida are brutal religous fundemenalists…..what is the Bush Whitehouse if not religous fundamentalists? Just Christian instead of Muslim. I'm not comparing the two as far as sick, warped and brutal terrorists, but still taking the country in an opposite direction from everything this country is supposed to represent.
Dubya and his cronies have turned America from the most respected to the most hated country in the world, which Americans should be very concerned with, as big as you are you cannot go it alone in this world.
America is the only country in the world that has used nuclear weapons in anger yet preaches to everyone else on the issue?
Your mainstream press is pretty much controlled by the Bush Whitehouse, seeing as the owners are all big business buddies of his, kind of like Al Jezzerah on the other side. It's propoganda vs propaganda at this point.
I'm not a leftie or a rightie, I agree and disagree with some of the opinions of both sides, but you should all be very worried about what will happen if Bush gets four more years to fuck up the world even more than he already has.
