Chris Martin.......

….who in God's holy name told him he could sing??? The boy doesn't have one note in his head, bless him!!!

I know, I know, neither do Shane McGowan, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen or even Bono….but they sing songs that complement their lack of vocal talent, this chump is trying to sing hymn-like songs for crying out loud. That "Fix you" for instance. Make it stop already!!!
whoa, where does this comment come from? I mean, whether or not you like Coldplay or U2 is a different thing, but to claim that Chris Martin and Bono can't sing? I think that's kind of a farfetched claim.

I like Coldplay, personally, and I don't see at all how it's farfetched to think Chris Martin can't sing.
i like the Shins.
I'm still not clear on where the critique that he can't sing comes from. He has a huge vocal range and a fair amount of power behind his voice. The falsetto control is certainly not something that everybody can do, and every time I've seen the band he seems to be accurate and on pitch, in addition to dynamic.

I'm not a huge Coldplay fan, but come on; the guy can sing.
i liked the drive by truckers

Hey, I don't care what anybody says. When I first heard it, that song blew me away….

….back in 2002.

All snobbery aside, New Slang still holds up today. It's just now it has Natalie Portman as a spokesman.
Watching him sing live sort of puts me on edge not unlike watching a shuttle launch. It just seems like he has to put so much effort into trying to sing in tune that he just can't relax and I can't help but feel bad for the guy. He tortures himself though because he's the one writing it in falsetto. Oh, well, I still like the band and they do put on a good show regardless.

are you talking about james "i act like an early 80s michael stipe on stage" mercer or chris martin?
Definitely Chris Martin. I wouldn't say he's an awful singer but he's not the best.
Ah, Fix You was played in the scene when Caleb Nichol died, no? Great scene.

Mankie's just an old codger. We let him hang around for amusement. Of course, amusement has it's price, you have to listen to the old man bitch about nothing 'cause that's what old folks do.
Coldplay is boojy.

I hope the commercial featured prominantly the part about all the "bakers cut[ting] of their thumbs" and bleeding into the food. McHIV!
