Q and Not U rollcall

let's do it again…

Kurosawa and I will be there. Sadly, Thirsty will not, as he and his girlfriend are going coal mining this weekend.

 so many jokes there

I will be there tonight, anybody want to guess on set times

I wish Decahedron were 2nd, so I could skip Mary Timony without skipping them
Walkie, buddy, you're killing me… sigh, again I say it, ample time to catch both shows at the Black Cat and DC9 tonite. By 1030, when the Lovers get off stage, whoever the first band is at the cat (mary timony or decahaedron) will be just starting. consider it a happy hour. Alright, I've said my peace. back to the roll call.
if i go to anything tonight, it'll be shannon wright and enon in baltimore. not enough into either q and not u or the bigger lovers to see them.
I'll be there.
i'll be there too…i don't know much about the openers…could someone please fill me in?
Decahedron was formed from the remains of Frodus. Pretty loud and aggressive. I'm definitely going early to catch them.
Decahedron
I was there last Friday so I won't be there tonight. Gotta long drive to Ocean City tommorrow. :D
thanks, i'll be skipping them judging from your description. who is first, them or mary timony? they sometimes switch the openers around.

Decahedron
The Black Cat site lists:
FRI MAY 14- Q AND NOT U, MARY TIMONY, DECAHEDRON $9 mainstage 9:30

I'm assuming Decahedron comes on first, since they're listed last. I'm not really sure though.
Q & U is alright. I never really got into them heavily though.
I'll be there.

Decahedron
wait, if loud and agressive don't do it for you, why are you going to see Q and Not U?

I have a dinner to do tonight, chief…which means I probably won't be out until 9:30-10 anyway. *bows head regretfully*
good question, paige. i haven't had the opportunity to see q not u (i've learned to buy tickets in advance to avoid sellout issues of past times they've been at the black cat.) and want to try them out live. might not be my thing, but from what i've heard of decahedron, they really won't be my thing. but who knows, maybe i'll be surprised.

oh the irony
is "q and not u" worth it? i mean i really don't want to see the openers. if i skip this show, i can fight and live to see another day (or show) w/the money i'm saving.
did i confuse you with someone else? all these names have thrown me since i'm only the occasional poster.

Q and Not U were great last night! Mary Timony was OK. She had a couple of up-tempo songs that I liked. I missed Decahedron.

agreed. the double encore/second encore combination was killer. decahedron were alright…sort of a punk/metal thing. mary timony was better up close where the fans kept me cool, than in the back where the temp must have been 90 degrees. hey pollard, what did your friend think of our hometown heroes?
