Who is psyched for the Lost season finale?

The show takes place in 2004. My wife said the type of cellphone that Jack was using in the "flashbacks" wasn't around in 2004. Anybody else agree/disagree? That was one of the pointers that it was actually the future.

Sad to see Charlie go. I was hoping the two women would give him one final threesome, but no go. Hell, he didn't even get to do more than kiss Claire. Poor little hobbit boy.

I was ready to quit the show if they really did kill Jin, Bernard, and Sayid.

I don't think Kate ends up with either Jack or Sawyer. I think the dead guy in the future is Sawyer, not Locke. Just a hunch.
I was thinking Michael was in the casket. He's one of the few characters on the show that no one would give two shits about if he died. Everyone else had friends/family/etc.; he's the one person that no one on the island had any love for, especially after he killed two of them and betrayed the rest. Just my two cents…

But he might have friends back home???

Although the fact that the funeral was in an African-American community might offer credence to your argument.

I'm sure there are all kinds of theories on the Lost message boards, which I take a look at no more than once a month or so, I swear.

It was odd that Jack had a black beard in the flash-forward, though in the present it appears as if his beard is going majorly gray. Bad job by the makeup/costume people, or any meaning?

Also, did anyone notice all the maps on the floor in Jack's room? Was he trying to find the island?

But, I enjoyed the 3rd one, and for some reason, was really sad to see Charlie go last night. (even though I found him terribly annoying beforehand)
we thought that too

ok, I thought last nights episode was pretty f'ed up in a good kind of way - I'm not sure how I feel about knowing now that at least some of them get off the island but I guess we have to find out how/why?

Also, if its not Pennys ship who's ship is it? Was Ben right when he said there were people trying to destroy the island?

Whats up with Walt? Is he alive or dead?

What exactly did Kate say at the end? "I have to get back to him" or "He'll be waiting" - is there any possibility she's referring to a son given all the hints about her possibly being pregnant?

The piece where Rousseau meets her daighter for the first time in 16 years, gazes deeply into her eyes and then says "Will you help me tie him up" was hilarious!!

I sort of thought that it may be Ben or the dark haired guy that convinced Juliette to go to the island in the coffin. It seems that Jack really wanted to get back to the island, my guess is one of (the only?) person that knows how to get to the island died. With no hope of being able to get back Jack decided to off himself.

I cant see him being so broken up over anyone else (not that he was in a great state, but clearly whomever died pushed him over the edge).
What do you make of him referencing his father in the flash-forward? Jack clearly said to the new doctor that he should call his father and see who was drunker?

That, coupled with the fact that Jack said he's sick of all the lies when talking with Kate have me thinking all types of conspiracy theories. What if, thanks to this "magical box" that can grant you anything you want, all of the survivors have their lives turned back the way they want? Maybe they're rescued, but have to keep all of the secrets of the island and everything that happened to themselves.

Might make sense that Kate doesn't seem to be on the run any longer. And maybe that's what unhinges Jack; as a man of science, having that burden of knowing something but not being able to even open up about it sets him over the edge?

By the way, not only am I horribly addicted to Lost, I spent an hour after the show and my entire hour run this morning thinking the entire thing over. I am a geek.
The consensus on the message boards so far is that it was Ben's funeral.

Johnathan Benstraum or something.

Clearly, I am not busy at work today.
heres what one board has for the obit

people also seem to be fixating on Jeremy Bentham which would tie in nicely with the philosopher angle

noticed that too

the beard i bet is totally on purpose
Well I don't have any original thoughts on anything, because I went on the Lost message board this morning.

Maybe Jack was delusional regarding his father because of the drugs?

Welcome to the geek club. I went to bed last night at 11:15, but didn't fall asleep until 1, because I was thinking about it. Or maybe the four pieces of pizza and coke sitting in my stomach kept me away. And my wife woke up for 40 minutes in the morning hours thinking about it. Or maybe it was the baby.

One far flung idea that I read was that they came back in time BEFORE the crash. Sort of a time travel thing. Would explain Jack's dark beard, but wouldn't explain him having a lifetime pass. Sounds farfetched to me.

Surprisingly, I stay away from the message boards. As geeky as I am, I'm a staunch believer in no spoilers. Granted, I will check out links to see freeze-frame images and things like the obit that brennser posted, but otherwise I steer clear.

Also, I'm 100% back in after that episode. Boy howdy, that got me hooked.

well if you haven't gone here yet, you should

Well, I'm back in as well after I yelled "WTF!" when Naomi fell over due to the pain-in-the-ass, Locke.
-I figured Kate needed to get back to Sawyer (very Dawson's Creek triangle if you ask me).
-Jack's beard I assumed was a bad job by the make-up team…He's a hairy dude and wouldn't take too long to grow an actual one. I don't think I'm gonna analyze this one for now.
-I couldn't guess who is in the casket…Locke is an interesting guess…That obit is weird.
-Walt is as freaky as Ben is evil.
-The shared bond b/w Danielle and her daughter was funny. I also laughed out loud when she put the smack down on Ben, who was tied to the tree. She went back to listening as if she had merely swatted a fly.

Sucks about Veronica Mars…I'm pretty much done watching 24, which is too bad. It's become too graphic/violent with no storyline.

Mankie - What do you think about Heroes?
That's pretty much all I'll be watching next season considering the fare being offered.

(Oh, and my guilty pleasure I confessed to - Dancing W/ The Stars…Yea, Apollo won! Ahem. I can go back to "normal" now.)
Oh! Couple more things…If it's not Penny's boat could it be what's her name: Hurley's pseudo girlfriend, the blonde that was killed? She was a redhead in a cafe looking at picture of a boat - wasn't Penny/Desmond at the same cafe?
Sad about Charlie, yet he was annoying. (dragged out drowning too). I thought he was "bad" again when he whacked Desmond w/ the paddle. Locke irritates me too, but whatever.
So, why the hell did Charlie shut himself in that room rather than stepping outside of the door and then closing it???!!! Was he just trying to fulfill Desmond's vision? It makes not sense to me. Unless I just don't understand how those doors work.

And is the name in the obit not Jeremy or Jonathan…but Jacob?
I thought maybe it could only be closed from the side he was on. So he shut it, knowing that if he didn't, Desmond would die as well. Plus the fulfilling the vision part.

Why didn't he just swim out the window that the water came through, after the room had filled up with water?

me, even though its been a shit season and I have seriously entertained the notion of quitting……I quit 24 instead
That's what I did as well. And I'm glad…enjoyed the last few episodes of Lost.

I thought exactly the same thing. In fact, I had thought it in reverse – midway through I noticed Jack's island stubble with gray and thought, "clever of them to remember to make his beard and mustache brown in the flashbacks."
