I'm not denying facts are inconvenient, i just don't think anyone gives a rats arse about prison population stats. Just because you don't agree with Al Gore's movie doesn't mean you need to shove every inconvenient stat you find into this forum.

Was this in response to my comparison of the two a few months back? Why is that such a ridiculous parallel? Both seem to write overly-sappy, pop-radio-friendly heartbreak sounds…not that there's anything wrong with it.

I just don't see why anyone would mock one while admiring the other…they seem cut from the same fabric to me.

the problem isn't the topics themselves it's the volume.

uttered once and it's easily ignored
uttered twice and the BS detectors get engaged
uttered thrice and people are going to call you on it and the flame wars begin
uttered fourth and beyond and the need to provoke isn't seen as funny anymore… people are fed up with it and begin to find other places to talk smack about Transylvania throat singing quartets and the forum withers away

most certainly not, nkotb! i have made the same comparison on this board and been yelled at for it! i dont recall you making it too, but yes, i agree, they are the Irish goo goo Dolls! and i dont see how you can like "Hands Open" and not like "Black Balloon" ;)
