Is anyone else but me watching…?
His program is waymore cutting edge than the getting-staler-by-the-moment Daily Show.

I watch it. Hard to stay up every night for it, but I at least watch The Word.
Personally, I don't think the Daily Show has gotten stale, but it is taking me some time to get used to some of the new correspondents.

watch the colbert report and while good sometimes the shtick doesn't always work for the interviews… unless the person being interviewed plays along with it like Dermont Mulroney did.
the Daily Show is getting stale in part because they are running out of ways to act "shocked" everytime the Bush administration, etc do something idiotic, that and they have a few to many serious authors types on for interviews.

i watch both every morning on tivo (watching the albert brooks interview on daily show right now), and after a couple of shaky weeks at the start, colbert is definitely pulling ahead of stewart … the question is how long his faux-conservative schtick can stay fresh, i could see it getting old

some of the interviews don't work, i'll agree with that. and his character has definite inconsistencies. it's like sometimes he really plays the conservative "well-intentioned idiot," but other times it's not too clear. still, i think it's very well done. i like all of the recurring segments, especially the "on notice" and "dead to me" boards. and the threatdown is good, too. damn bears. daily show is still funny, but the media annointed it as such an "important" show and stewart bought into his own hype – almost had no choice, really – and now it's too message-y sometimes.

Yeah, the Daily Show is still good but a victim of its own success. Colbert is funny but I wonder if he really had enough for a whole separate show?

I like how it's a direct parody of The O'Reilly Factor. BTW, did anyone happen to catch Bill O'Reilly on Letterman last week? Great stuff.

I've only seen O' Reilly a couple of times, so for that reason I probably don't fully appreciate Colbert.
But regarding Letterman, that was great!

i saw a clip on the colbert report … the "60% of the things you say are crap" was pretty funny … did dave give it to him the whole time? it seems like o'reilly never gets his ass handed to him when he goes on other shows

thanks for posting that link, but i certainly don't think dave took him down at all, like the comments on that page … it actually seemed like bill had a greater deferance to dave than he has to most of his interviewers … i'm still waiting for o'reilly to be demolished live on camera

I think Letterman certainly gave O'Reilly a good dose of his own medicine, and it didn't seem like O'Reilly handled it very well. But it would've been better if Dave had had a few choice facts to shoot O'Reilly down with. A little research beforehand would've done wonders.

wow, were you reading my away message, or something?
for the last twelve hours, it has said "watch The Colbert Report tonight, and look for my brother!"
he went to see it last night…even though there isn't much audience; we were both still very excited.

I love Colbert, but I think he may be in trouble. I fear he may be too intelligent for the rest of America.
