Last.fm

I'm a bit slow on these websites, but anyone using Audioscrobbler or last.fm? It might be interesting to have a 9:30 forum group at last.fm to findout what people listen to. Audioscrobbler tracks what you listen to on your media player and complies it for other to see. It also creates a group chart as well.

Thoughts?
i use it, just to see how much damn dylan and the fall i listen to. i don't use any of their services, just use it to track what i listen to. because rankings and statistics and such are inherently cool.
I've been using it for awhile too but I've found that lately, it never logs what I've actually listened to. If you go by what it has listed for me for the past month or so, you would think that I've only listened to 2 songs. The reality is far, far greater than that. Apparently, it has something to do with their servers which are always in some state of flux.

Whenever I go on there, I feel like I'm shopping at Target with their new website design.
you know whats funny?

i was on mine today, and thinking that i should post about it on HERE. i hadn't seen this thread. STRANGE.

well if you want me to start a group i'll do it, but here's my URL. friend me and let me know who you are… http://www.last.fm/user/youbeBetty/
an ex-boyfriend got me into it while it was still audioscrobbler (before they got all fancy with the last.fm stuff). i think a 9:30 forum group is a great idea!

dumb question but how does this all work? does it sync w/ your ipod/mp3 player and check what songs you've been listening to?
yes to a mp3 player, i'm guessin no connection to iPod. it transfer in real time the track info you are listening to. then starts compiling a chart of whats played most often, etc
You can also install a plug-in to track everything you play via Winamp or WMP.

a little birdie told me that an ipod plugin is also in the works.

i'll start up the 9:30 group this afternoon when i get home…
it works for ipods. that's how i use it.

I would assume you'd use the iTunes download and then play your iPod through iTunes…but that's just a guess.

First rule of 9:30.com last.fm group: no one lets Rhett into 9:30.com last.fm group.
oh rhett and his mainstream alt.country tunage is welcome… wait until i get the girl group boxset and listen it on repeat for a week.

does last.fm pickup the tags on streaming mp3 stations?
