[qb] My friend from Ohio said on the second night they brought out Morris Day and The Time, I don't know what songs or how many. Talk about old school.
prince ROCKED the house tonight. thank god because i've seen him a few times prior in the last ten years and have been sorely disappointed.

2.5 hours of great music. though the sound was really f'd for the first 20 minutes. surprising because the mci generally has a decent sound system. strange, but true!

he did nearly 40 minutes of acoustic stuff, with an absolutely breath taking version of "adore". "pop life" was fabulous as well, with the band.

he has maceo parker on tour with him, plus another sax player and a trombone player.

he was on at 8.20, with a 7.30 posted time on the tickets so for those of you going fri/sat, i think you'd be safe getting there around 8.45 if the posted time is 8 pm.

its center stage too so if your seats are in the middle of the mci, like ours were, you'll have a great view. video screens in all 4 directions.

there are lots of ticket scalpers outside so if you don't have tickets yet, i think you could get some, less than face value. also, remember that the ticket price includes musicology.

i'm thinking about going again tommorow or saturday. though i really want to watch the opening ceremonies.
and we saw it several times. i don't think he was wear undies as there were no undies lines, or he was wearing a thong. which, i wouldn't put past him.

So it is a round stage?
that way everyone can see his nice ass at all times! perfect.
This is the 1st time I saw Prince live. It was an excellent show. 2.5 hours of great music. This was the best concert I saw this year.
I thought the concert was good, It was worth it but I do think the MCI shows for MaDonna and Van Halen were better. I thought the accoustics were too long and the wrong songs (except for the shopping song of course). Also, he didnt play Erotic City which is my fav. Prince song. He didnt play Gett Off either, but I guess thats cause he's the new and improved clean Prince. But he played Cream….hmmmmmmm……I also had someone behind me singing every single word to every single song, picture Anthony Anderson's voice as a heavy set black female voice and thats what I had to go through. All in all, it was great to see him for the first time, but that was about it.

Oh yeah, I thought the ending with Purple Rain was really good!!!!!!!!!!
That acoustic set could've lasted all night for me. I'd love to hear more of his songs stripped down like that.

There aren't many artists who can really work a crowd and make such a big building seem like a small place.

"There are many kings, but there is only one Prince."
yeah the sound was surprisingly bad …. they should have had more speakers aimed directly at the upper levels, instead of just toward the lower sections. Still, it was a rockin' good show, and Prince is a marvel. The acoustic set was awesome, especially "Cream", "Adore" and "Sweet Thing". My fave tunes of the night were "Pop Life", "Controversy", and "DMSR". Plus tantalizing bits of "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" and "Sometimes it Snows in April" .. maybe he'll do those tonight and tomorrow. Enjoy !!
I went on Saturday night, at the last second. I got good seats though, 400 level but in the first row, so we had no one blocking us, and i think the sound was better than if we'd been higher up. It wasnt the best, but i wont complain.

Prince is the man, and one of the best guitar players around. i didnt know too much of the stuff. A Medley of hits in the early goings and then some stuff at the end.

I like the acoustic stuff the best, along with the Zeppelin cover and the last song (Purple Rain) was great too.

He's an amazing performer, and I'm very glad i chose to stay in Balt/DC (instead of going to NYC) and seeing him once.

It was also cool to get his new CD free upon arrival!
Prince was awesome on Saturday night! The show was a 2.5 hour funk jam that was backed up by an amazing band (Maceo Parker on sax!!). I was up in the 400 level and people were dancing like crazy. Also, since he was in DC, Prine did a tribute to the go-go genre by doing exceptional covers of Bustin' Loose and Pass the Peas. Definitely one of the best shows I have seen this year. Did I mention that 1/3 of crowd was dressed up as if they were going to the Players Ball. What fun!
I went Friday and was down in section 113, four rows up from the floor. Fabulous. It was a fantastic show, as I thought it would be. Prince is just so good, and his band is so good – it's the antithesis to big arena shows like Britney, Madonna, etc., which is all "broadway spectacle" rather than musicianship. And yet, he's also so exciting to watch. A guitar is simply liguid in his hands.

Didn't want to go a second night, though, as the setlist appears to be the same every night…
SAT night..2 hours and 45 minutes…37 songs…Chuck Brown and Zeppelin covers were both great…the sound was very good on SAT…Maceo is truly the best sideman ever…Prince is THE BEST live performer…AND he writes all his songs and plays almost every intrument….period.
For those who went Saturday night, Did Prince happen to pick Sonick out of the crowd to go up on stage and do his little R&B dancing for a few songs?
