I Am The World Trade Cent– oops, wrong disaster joke, sorry.
In all seriousness, a friend of mine up in Philedelphia is probably going do put a benefit together just for that purpose. It will probably be Shoegaze-centric but there may be some others included, especially considering the circumstances and the fact that he is also putting on the Popfest event in Philly in September.

If he does this, I'll let you all know.

To stick with the sick joke theme, I bet A Place To Bury Strangers will be playing at this event if he gets it going. :D
Jesus dont you think DROWNING POOL would be rather ironic!
Usher, Green Day, Ludacris and Alicia Keys are among the artists who have signed on for a Hurricane Katrina relief concert that will span three cities, three television networks and several musical genres.

Dave Matthews Band, Rob Thomas, Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, David Banner, Gretchen Wilson and John Mellencamp will also take part in the shows, which will be staged in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville on September 10 and will air live on MTV, VH1 and CMT. Additional artists will be added to the lineup soon, and proceeds from the show will go to the American Red Cross.

Recalling the star-heavy telethons organized to aid victims of 9-11 and last year's tsunami tragedy, NBC Universal is spearheading a benefit concert to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The media conglomerate announced Wednesday that the event, dubbed A Concert for Hurricane Relief, will air Friday at 8 p.m. on NBC, MSNBC and CNBC. The special will broadcast live in high-definition on the East Coast from NBC's New York studios in Rockefeller Plaza and air on tape delay in the West.

Among the artists slated to perform are New Orleans natives Wynton Marsalis and Harry Connick Jr., and Tim McGraw, who hails from Stark, Louisiana. Celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio will also be on hand to plead for donations to help those in the Gulf Coast region devastated by Monday's catastrophic storm. Today show host Matt Lauer will serve as emcee

Beaten to the punch. Look up. "King of New Orleans" doesn't hurt either.
