When I saw Lloyd Cole there, the room was a large group of people sitting around. Of course, Lloyd's music can lend itself to that, but overall, there is obviously no energy at a venue like that. ;)
P.S. Hopefully Steve Kilbey will sing on-key at this one. Anyone recall the 9:30 Club gig a few years ago when "Reptile" sounded surprisingly different?! ;)
