Vegoose Music Festival Roll Call

It is a little early for this, granted, but I'm curious who else is planning to go out to Vegas for Vegoose at the end of October.

The Keyspan Park Daft Punk videos were my deciding factor…
I wish I were going…it's a great lineup.
a fine choice you've made, sir. daft punk alone makes this trip worthwhile, it's what has me on a plane. so can't wait to experience that again.

my girlfriend and i are planning on going. bought both festival and after-party tix. need to hold off on flights and accomodations until i know exactly what my work travel schedule is going to look like… soon i'm going to have to bite the bullet and make arrangements regardless - and tell work to bite me if they have a prob with it :)

something i'm digging about vegoose: only two stages with a high-quality line-up (i.e. i wouldn't mind catching just about every act) = less running around than other festivals, hopefully.
I'm afraid I'm passing on this.

My friends are still asking me about this. It's such a tease because I'm the only one who's serious.

Dammit Daft Punk. Damn. It.
going! lookin' forward to it big time.

sorry, but my homeboy that i'm going with got us 4 nights free - the main reason we are staying there in fact….

but its got a great location, awesome pools and other cool perks - cant wait!
I went the first year and I thought nothing could be greater than The Flaming Lips at a Halloween party. I realized I was wrong when they announced Daft Punk on Halloween weekend. The 27th of October is my birthday to boot.
for those needing additonal incentive…

I'm heading there a week from today. Staying at the Tropicana.
We went to Vegas for the last night of our honeymoon and stayed at the Aladdin. Got a huge room for 65/night. Plus, it's right in the middle of the strip (the new one), across from the Bellagio. I'd recommend it.

how long ago was this? it appears the aladdin has become the "Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino, A Sheraton Resort". check it out: http://www.aladdincasino.com/

$65/night rooms on weekends are next to impossible to find. throw in a big festival, and getting anything decent & not in the boonies for under $150 at this point is a challenge.
vegas hotels are charging a lot bec. of this fest…

all hotels do, no matter where a festival is :( our hotel in indio doubled their prices for coachella weekend. it's not as if the hotels are doing anything to make the festival happen - doesn't seem fair to me that they get to reap reward for something they aren't involved in nor contributing to. oh well.
It was 4 years ago. Sorry to hear it changed!
Well, it is also Halloween, and a weekend. Vegas is pretty expensive generally, so those things add to it as well.
schedule now posted at www.vegoose.com under "line-up" (pdf version here). festival will have three stages, i thought there werer only go to be two. dang, might be some walking back and forth after all.

QOTSA vs. iggy isn't cool - but have seen the queens twice now and iggy is playing "fun house" in its entirely, so that wins for me.

public enemy vs cypress hill - keepin' the hip hop nation down by dividing it. sweet.

MIA vs the shins… meh. or, yeay - break time.
Battles v Gogol Bordello
Queens v Iggy v Thievery Corporation
Muse v UNKLE

I think I choose Battles, the first hour of Queens, Thievery and Muse…
thievery are playing friday night at the HOB so i'll catch them there, and won't feel as bad about skipping them at the festie :) i really want a decent spot for daft punk, willing to skip TC to ensure this.
