I know how some of you llike to see BigYawn get trashed now and again, cough cough Rhett cough cough… so I give you some examples of late…it appears we are all the rage on the pathetic and boring man's blog circuit lately

At the risk of sounding boring and pathetic, I have to admit that I also noticed that the Big Yawn reviews are all bunched in the middle. Well over half of all the reviews are in the narrow range of 7.0 to 8.5.
While there are decent reasons for this (zines tend to review music they like, or think they will like) and you will find this phenomenon at many zines, I think it's still a valid criticism.

I don't take fault with that criticism either… it is a concern i have always had. I think it has more to do with relatively green writers being afraid to buck the curve. But it is something I have tried to address. And generally speaking, most of the writers don't pick anything they get, though i do try to match up tastes.
And ggw, in my eyes, you could never be boring or pathetic… ;)
