DC goes apeshit!

I'm two blocks from the White House, and I heard a military plane whizz by – close and loud – right around that time. My friend across the street at Bloomberg emailed to ask if I heard it too, and told me what was going on.

We were at code Red for a few minutes, folks.

The White House briefing was interesting – with questions like, "haven't the terrorists won if one small Cessna can throw the whole government into chaos?"
I don't know what everyone was worried about.

Our fearless leader had everything under control:

At the time of the incident, Bush was on a bike ride
So answer me this,

Why were the planes released from Andrews AFB for a tiny ass Cessna, but when we already knew about planes being hijacked on 9/11 they were released from Richmond. Really makes you wonder doesn't it…

I work about 4 blocks from the White House and it was a party going on here while I was on our rooftop patio!

A fighter jet whizzed right over the club, we thought it was SOAD arriving for sound check.
Quote from the cnn article: "…President Dick Cheney was moved to a secure location for a brief time"

"At the time of the incident, Bush was on a bike ride with a security detail in Maryland, officials said."

Oh, that's right, because ever other president this country has had is ALWAYS in the White House just waiting for something to happen.

The last one sure was, and I'd take him over the moron we've got in there now. It was proven he was in the White House plenty of times, just ask ol' Monica Lewinski! ;)

I'm not one to defend our current administration nor rule out splendid conspiracy theories but the easy and obvious answer is that security is much different now than it was pre-9/11. Supposedly the government had not considered much the feasibility of flying planes into stationary objects and now that seems to be a concern of theirs. Which simply means, it probably will not happen again. Just like how they check your shoes at the airport - who the hell is going to try to smuggle a bomb or other device in their shoe nowadays? Always one step behind they are.
All I'm saying is the guy has enough legit things we can bitch about. And I wouldn't call taking a bike ride a vacation.

That's it. Carry on….
