This Juliette Lewis thread got me thinking. Now we are talking actors who then did bands, not a musician who then acted (so this discounts The Clash, Richard Hell, FEAR, Bongwater…)

For my money it is Johnny Depp's band with Gibby Haynes, P.

Not that I would vote for Bongwater – but I thought Ann Magnuson had been an actress for a while before the band formed?

I thought that she did performance art and then after Bongwater really got into acting including a role on a tv show.

Then again her resume does go back pretty far:

I haven't listened to their music so I can't say they are the "best band"…Tim Robbins, Jared Leto, Kevin Bacon. Did Don Johnson once make some music? Milla J. the model is also an actress?
