anyone going to Tool in Baltimore on Friday?

Hi,

I have a ticket for the TOOL show in Baltimore on Friday 6/8, but no way of getting there. I was hoping to find someone already going who has some room in their car.

MARC trains stop running early and renting a car would make the outrageous ticket price even worse.

If anyone is going I'd be grateful for a ride and would gladly help out with gas money.

Thanks!
If all else fails, you can take amtrak back in time to catch a metro to get you where you need to be.

Oh and you should get there early for melt-banana.
that BWI Metro stop hasn't been built yet?? damn.
Take the metro to Greenbelt. Take the Greenbelt-BWI shuttle bus. Take the light rail to the Arena…

GREENBELT METRO STATION
at 6:00pm
Take B30 BUS to BWI AIRPORT
at 6:33pm

BWI LIGHT RAIL
at 6:42pm
Univ Center/Baltimore St
at 7:12pm
I'm driving from Alexandria, VA. If you can get to me or close, I can give you a ride.
I think his main issue is getting back. Doesn't Marc run until 8 or 9 PM? Getting there shouldn't be a problem.

I think the light rail schedule said there was a train that leaves for BWI at 11:30 and the last one at midnight. I'd definitely try to make the 11:30 train as the light rail schedule seems to get sketchy late at night. So it should be over in time to do that whole route in reverse.
But yeah… finding someone to ride with would be a lot easier.
I'll most likely be in the same boat for the Panda Bear ottobar show. Is there a light
rail station anywhere near there?
The UB/Mount Royal and North Avenue stops are somewhat close by… but I'm not sure how safe it is to walk around that area or how easily it would be to catch a cab from those stops. You could easily get off at the Convention Center stop and catch a cab though.
The hard part would be getting back. Light rail would most likely be done by the time the show is over.

I snagged two floor tickets on eBay for $61 with free shipping last week.
No ass, no grass, no ride.
i'll be there, but since i live in baltimore i cant help with a ride.

i'll be in the seats, cause i'm old and what not.
Yeah I'll either have to stay with a friend or amtrak it back.
What do you mean Amtrak it back? Can that be done on Friday night after the show? Amtrak from Baltimore to DC you are saying?

If I could somehow go up and come back via Metro/bus/light rail/walking, that would be great.

Paul3Mac…you think that your idea will work both up and back? If so, that sounds great.

Thanks for all the replies.

JonathanEH…if I get to the King Street Metro stop whenever you are leaving on Friday could you grab me there? On the way back the last train leaves for DC at 2:37. I think we'll be back in time for that. The show can't go much past 12:30 or so, which should be plenty of time to drive from Baltimore to Alexandria at that time of night.

If I can get to that Metro and you could grab me there, that would be great. Hopefully it isn't too far out of your way to get there.
I've taken Amtrak back from Baltimore fairly late both on week nights and weekends. It's been a while, though.

Words to live by. You gotta love this man's mode of thinking. :D

Alternate option for my stranded homey/thread starter: My advice to you would be to catch a cab after the show to the Greyhound station @ 2110 Haines St. (Book it online not now but RIGHT NOW!) and take a bus back to DC. You'll be right by Union Station (2.something blocks) at the Metro in plenty of time to get whereever you're going since Metro runs 'til 3. Total cost should be like $20-something or so.
Okay, this sounds like a pretty good plan with the Greyhound bus idea. I think that will work out the best.

If anyone knows of someone driving up from in/around DC though (and back Friday night) I'd be very appreciative of a ride. Saw them in October, but would love to not miss this show.

Thanks for all of the ideas and suggestions.
yet another thought… isn't this was ZipCar was invented for?
ZipCar is an idea. However, I prefer public transportation/ride share to driving myself. I do not like driving, especially to Baltimore.

Secondly, I already paid an outrageous price for the ticket thanks to "courtesy" fees, and a ZipCar would put the night at well over $100. While I like Tool an awful lot, that is just insane. I could see nine other shows in DC for that price.

So yes, Zipcar is an idea, but not a preferable one.
