Tuesday, Oct. 26, Black Cat mainstage

I don't know how many of you have heard Against Me!, but they're the best punk band out there right now, IMHO … they're from gainesville, fl (hot water music, et al) and have a huge underground following with punk kids from touring non-stop and playing blistering basement sets …

allmusic describes them (in their 4 star review of their major label debut "…As The Eternal Cowboy") as combining poppy punk rock with leftist politics, Billy Bragg's raspy anti-folk, and the Replacements' beer-soaked version of Americana.

I saw them at 930 club last fall as part of a bigger bill, and they put on a hell of a show.

This kid I grew up with is their drummer, but I'm not just pimping them because of that, they're really really solid.

Worth $10 on an otherwise dead Tuesday.

dead tuesday? are you kidding me? bad religion is playing 5 blocks away on the same night. i dig against me! but i'm not missing bad religion at the 930 club. its also a better bill with rise against.
