Top 40 american atistes today, as judged by the UK!!!

Vansmack, I think they are meant to be current acts.

Either way, if it were not for the cowboy Junkies it would be an awful list.

Judging by the acts of the first list, I didn't realize quality was one of the requirements.

Yes, I was trying to avoid quality, which is not hard to do when talking Canadian music, that being said, I like Rush.

Ditto. In my top 5 trios of all time.
For those who have never seen Cowboy Junkies live….THEY SUCK ASS! I did sit in front of them at a Caps game one time though….they were more lively at the game than during their show.

if it weren't for so much manufactured hype the kings of leon would be still asking if you wanted fries with that shake…

there spot should easily be filled with GBV, Slobberbone or The Drive-by Truckers.

i have no problem with artists who don't write there own songs. Prior to the Beatles most artists didn't write own songs. Frank Sinatra and Elvis certainly weren't great songwriters. The problem today is the current hitmakers aren't up to quality of the old Brill Building hitmakers. And today an artist image is more important than their repratory…

So what you're saying is, "new music is all shite"…which is what I've been saying all along! :p
and you can take off the Strokes in favor of Brendan Benson… I'm suprised Brendan not on that list seeing as he's got more exposure in the UK then here.

So in all, disregarding quality, we don seem to have many more than 20.

So my earlier facetious comment appears to be true.
