Anyone going to the show tonight?
Al promises to beat up an effigy of W on stage from what I've heard… among the other usual non surprises..

Actually I think it's someone dressed up as W on stage. Should be a good show and I plan on getting my groove on to some Thrill Kill Kult!

Being from Chicago and having grown up there in the 80's when industrial was at its peak, I am SO not missing this one. My sis saw the show there and said TKK sucked, but that Ministry rocked the house and Al does quite a number on Dumbya. Can't wait…I hope they'll play "Stigmata". I would love to hear "Do You Fear (For Your Child)?" by TKK too.

A friend of mine who saw them up in Winnipeg Canada, said Al dove into the crowd during one of the opening acts songs.
The security there didn't know who he was and started pummeling him, as a result a bunch of fans recognized it was him and started attacking security until they finally figured out who it was.
Unreal… If the manager didn't step in things could have REALLY got out of hand..

So we have Chicago to blame for alt-country AND industrial…

I'd have to ask my chum… I wasn't there. (assuming it was his manager could have been just someone else..)

Incredible show in Baltimore by both TKK and Ministry. Hanzel and Gretyl were very mediocre, very loud, very metal, and very German. Ministry was perfect. You'll be sitting through a half dozen brand new songs before the oldies kick in, but they roll out the hits for the second half and its worth it. I havent seen Ministry since the golden years of Psalm 69, but this was the best they've ever been in the three times I've seen them in the past.
Great crowd in Baltimore and Al looked like he was having a blast onstage. He praised the crowd several times. Band was tight and as heavy as any other version of Ministry. And oh yea, George Bush makes an entrance in the beginning.
I dont know much from TKK except the more popular songs and they play them. I heard some poor reviews for their recent tour but they were in fine shape on Saturday.

Hanzel und Gretyl are american, but half their lyrics are in german…and personally, i thought they kicked ass…then again, i've been a fan ever since i stumbled upon transmissions from uranus back in '97…and saw em back then too. they've gotten a bit heavier i suppose….but i thought they were amazing….if you wanna talk medicore, then i'd say look at TKK, heh. Why does buzz even pretend he is playing keyboards?
but yeah, ministry in baltimore were awesome..they were running a sign up thing on their fan forums (
http://www.pissarmy.com) awhile back where you could wear the bush mask on stage…..i signed up for baltimore…and for the first few weeks they actually were calling people and having them onstage as bush…but a few weeks ago that changed and they stopped calling the people that signed up…i think they were afraid of lawsuits (when al tackles bush)…sucks, i was so fired up, had all hte bush moves down too, hehe. i was going to go to the DC show tonight too, but with puppy and kmfdm both coming up, i'd end up breaking the bank.
hadn't been to thunderdome before…..was suprised at how small it was…..was f'ing great to ministry at such a small venue (imagine the black cat, with half the room….plus a balcony)

I was expecting Thrill Kill Kult to suck, but I thought they were awesome. It was so cool to hear them open with "Cuz It's Hot" and then play a bunch of their old stuff like "The Days of Swine and Roses" and "Kooler Than Jesus".
Ministry blew the roof off the place. I thought that the new material seemed pretty strong, even though I don't have the new LP, but the band was tight as hell and sounded great. The old stuff killed…I enjoyed this show a lot more than the time I saw them on the "Dark Side of the Spoon" tour. "The Deity" was amazing, so was "Thieves". Here's the setlist:
No W
Waiting
Worthless
Wrong
Warp City
WTV
World
NWO
Just One Fix
The Diety
Hero
Thieves
Psalm 69

I got there late, and then I forgot my 2 tickets at the house so I had to rebuy tickets at the door.
We got there right as TKK opened, and I'm sorry, but I thought they were weak last night.
I wanted to see HuG but someone told me I didn't really miss anything.
As far as ministry, they were freaking awesome. I'm the scrawny guy who was bouncing around in the pit with the Iron Maiden shirt on, and then the bandanna the latter part of the night.
The big guy with the long hair was really pissing me off, he would go and slam all the small guys like me really hard, and then just bounce off of a big guy. I mean what the hell. I got a bloody nose twice, and a busted lip, and black eye.
I thought ministry would open with Jesus Built My Hotrod but I'm glad they at least came back and played it. Overall, it was well worth the almost 60 bux I ended up paying.

I think part of the problem was TKK's overall volume was half of that of HuG and Ministry. I had heard bad reviews as well about TKK. I didn't think they sucked but I've seen them really hit with lots of energy. Levi is the man on bass and will always give 110% and like someone said, he's got the groove!
HuG is from Brooklyn, and their drummer is in LA. Not German at all. The first 2 songs for HuG was nothing but guitars in the mix, but they had a really good set. Better then when we played with them at Nation a year ago for July 4th. Starting in Nov they'll be the main supporting act and TKK will go on first.
Ministry did blow up the place! I liked it when Levi came out to help Al pummel Bush! Excellent set too. The new tracks have grown on me after listening to them for the past few weeks. So I didn't mind hearing them run through the first few songs off the new album :)
The party almost became a bigger party as the Genitorturers were going to drop on in as well since their show got cancelled at Jaxx for tonight.

The show at the 9:30 was way better then the one Saturday night at Thunderdome. That show was good, but the one at the 9:30 took it up several notches. TKK was lots better last night and their bass player is just too cool. Everyone I was around, at the show, thought Hanzel and Gretyl was great. As for Ministry, they took no prisoners last night. I wonder if Al and the boys stopped by to see W, while they were in town?

The pit during Ministry was a rough one, but a friendly one. Not sure if that makes sense. Either that or I am getting to old for that stuff. Anywho, It was a great show, and I don't think the big guy with the long hair had any intent on killing us little people off, it's just the pit, and that the way it works.Maybe he didn't realize his own strength? Or maybe I'm getting to old for that stuff. But all and all, Ministry was great, TKK wasn't too bad, And HuG we're awsome too. Next Time I won't wear a leather jacket in the pit. I think I sweat off about 10lbs in that bitch!! Great show and a fun time, reguadless of the bit lip and bloody nose I got!
