I went to a number of HFStivals in the mid-90s and saw some great bands, both indie and 'mainstream alternative', but they haven't appealed to me in the last four or five years at all. It's kind of a shame. Thing is, I don't give a rat's ass about spending $40 anymore, but why waste my time on bands I don't like and fighting the teenage crowds?

I didn't get one of those emails. Guess I'm not part ofthe target market.
Either I am getting old or HFStival is getting incrementally worse….. I wonder have ticket sales and prices suffered, please say they have to massage my ego.

I realize that a bunch of the 80s bands aren't the highest caliber music, but this is all the shit I listened to when I was in high school. And to throw in one of my current faves like F.O.W. would be awesome.

I'm with you ladies. It may not be my all-time dream festival but I'm sure that I'd leave pleased, unlike that freaking HFStival torturous line-up. One good band - BRMC. That's it!
Thank you Seth for booking BRMC at the 9:30 Club!!!! After skipping this area on their recent "Initmate Tour", I'd have to seek them out and kill them otherwise.

I did see that show. I thought it was good, but I saw her more recently in NYC at Roseland Ballroom, and it was a fantastic show. They played a lot of old stuff – it was last fall sometime.
But I'm pretty easy, if they play "Christine," "Spellbound" and "Dazzle," maybe "The Killing Jar" as well, I leave the place floating on clouds and secure about all that is good in the world.
