Ok…great data points and seals the deal on me making a big deal out of the primary…so my vote is for Lee then!

I'm not familiar with him, but I have a great orthodontist and/or dentist to recommend.

over here...

I would totally vote for him if he was running for pennywhistle player for the Pogues.
Ok am I reading this correctly,
the VA GOP is picking their Gov, lt gov and AG based on 30,000 hardcore MAGA Gop voters from this weekend???
I assume the craziest one will get picked and mean it will be a shoe-in for Two-timing-Terry

sounds like the only policy is “Election integrity”
They are selecting their candidate by convention which they have done historically for the majority of my time in Virginia. They are also rolling our Ranked Preference Voting which is an interesting concept. The AG selection nearly went to a nutso, but the more mainstream candidate pulled it out closely.

"The craziest one", re the Governorship, is Amanda Chase and she is not expected to win [although I wouldn't find it a super surprise]. Likely Pete Snyder.
I did read that it was Ranked choice…that helps the more sane one to come to the top of the pile at least

I am 100% confident if Ranked Choice was used in the 2016 Primary for the GOP…we would not have had trump
I don't think he ever cleared 40%

That's an interesting thought experiment. You may be right.
Pete could be a tough candidate
definitely seems normal and would appeal to Nova folks (which may sink him in other parts of the state)
I love that they are ripping him for 'working' with the DNC in the early 2000s ….ummm he had a media consulting company, not a lobbying firm
Some people are soo stupid

I kinda wanted Chase to win, as it would be hysterical to see the mental gymnastics she'd need to do to defend policy stuff

I'll take that as a WIN!
It’s Snyder or Youngkin, almost certainly for Va Gov.

Chase and Cox have all but been mathematically eliminated after two rounds of counts. Whoever their voters listed as #2 is who is going to win.
Barring something wild where Glenn Youngkin got virtually no #2 votes, I think he's your GOP nominee.

on appearance alone, he looks like the kind of GOP I would expect pre-trump
I think Ranked choice is the way to get the crazy out of the party
The dems need to do it too

needs to happen on every election…will rid of us of this bi-partisan insanity we are going through where the crazy person who only needs 35-40% of the vote wins because there are 2 other good candidates, but neither one is courting the crazy vote

and of course, the 'woke' dems are getting their panties in a knot over Terry being so popular
He's ruining Virginia's chance to have the first female/black governor in the state's history
I think that's a great thing to have, but if they are not popular and can't get out the vote, we are not just going to give it to them
If you would've asked me who the GOPs best chance of winning is with, I would've said Cox or Youngkin so it does appear RPV is going to yield them one of their strongest possible candidates. That said, Youngkin had the most #1 votes after round 1 too, so its the same outcome they would've had with a more traditional straight-voting convention.
don always waits until its obvious he won't pick a loser…that's why he had Flynn endorse chase

Donald Trump just endorsed Glenn Youngkin
