Vatican criticizes "intelligent design"/defend
so now that there (most likely) will be 5 of 9 catholic judges, does that mean that intelligent design is fucked in the court?
It just goes to prove that Catholics don't ever claim that God talks directly to them, unlike many of the Protestant denominations("Jesus told me to invade Iraq").

Jimmy Carter is my hero, too. Go figure..?
very productive post-presidency. genuine humanitarian.

Would W have flown to the control room of Three Mile Island when the reactor's situation was critical to reassure the staff & community?

Every time I see W involved with a genuine national crisis he's either running the other way in a hurry after dropping his copy of My Pet Goat, or he shows up about two weeks late and only stays long enough for a quick overflight & hand-shake/photo-op.

Flying to the control room of a nuclear reactor was a dumb stunt. It convinced people that TMI was a far bigger crisis than it actually was and scared the bejeesus out of everyone.
Carter has done good things since his presidency. But as a President, he sucked.
As for the Catholics… for the most part they seem more reasonable than Evangelical Protestants (pretty much everyone does) but then remember that they do silly things like ban the DaVinci Code and forbid contraception….

I'd hardly call a core meltdown a small crisis. In actuality Carter's move calmed everyone.

heh… dude, you're a winner! :D
ps, since you're blabbing on about historical records, maybe you ought to look up the fact that TMI never actually did fully melt down. It was just panicked morons like yourself who thought it did.
Or perhaps you can just go on feeling like a winner. :D

Three Mile Island is the location of a U.S. nuclear power station that, on March 28, 1979, suffered a partial core meltdown.
