Last week of September roll call

I'll be at Megadeth on Sunday with a couple other friends. It's going to be a kick ass show!!
There's like 5 or 6 separate shows worth attending saturday.

I'll probably do Thurston Moore/Christina Carter if anything.
Most likely just Dylan/Costello for me.
QOTSA
+/-
Thurston Moore
Okkervil River

that is if I can recover from the last four days of no sleep and back to back shows Metric/Ladytron/Chemical Brothers/Klaxons/Mystery Jets/Bjork/Spank Rock which mercifully ended at 5am this morning
You forgot the LUCKSMITHS…but they may be too indie for you :)

Definitely not too INdie, but rather too INconvenient considering I already have tix to another show that night… which I'll likely miss due to exhaustion anyway….

Damn so much to choose from on saturday; I'll have to do something then too.

Thurston Moore/Christina Carter, Wooly Mammoth, Exit Clov, Le Loup.
There's also Andrew Bird at Sonar, for those not opposed to driving to Balmer…
Anyone going to Dylan/Costello tomorrow?
No, because Elvis C is doing a short set and Dylan sounds like a drunk bum nowadays.

Yeah, I saw Dylan a few years ago at Ripken stadium and it was not his best show. Thanks for the heads up on the costello set.
Elvis Costello's solo show is deathly boring.
Party Poopers. I think it's gonna be a fun show.
I'd love to see The Lucksmiths, but alas last time they were at DC9 they played a 'school night' and didn't even begin their set until after midnight. That is bull*&^%, so I'm not planning to go this time for fear of an equally late show.
Magnolia Electric Co. tonight. Dylan/Elvis tomorrow. 50/50 on Wooly Mammoth on Saturday.

Rock and Roll Hotel was packed from front to back for Okkervil River last night. Were none of you there? Very good show. Thanks very much to bnyced0 for the ticket. I owe you a drank!

I was there. It was a fucking great show (even though Will was sick). But it was a little too packed. And there were alot of tall people there, so I couldn't see much :(

For those that missed out, NPR recorded the show: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14727366
yeah, i didn't see much from my scrunched up position in the back. sounded good though.

I was gonna mention that I thought the show was oversold, and coincidentally, I saw this. That place sucks when it's packed because you're pretty much screwed if you're in the middle and need to go to the bathroom…
But yeah, that was one of the better sounding shows I've seen at R&R.
