I just noticed the show at the Black Cat has been cancelled on Jan. 31st.
Is the Show at Fletchers still on for this Friday? Have they cancelled all their US dates?
Help..
Please..
Must see them…

They were alive and well on Friday night, I can assure you. Not nearly as many models as they had in the video though, which was a little disappointing. No copies of the new album either, just the EP.
I overheard on Friday that their Boston gig was up in the air due to travel problems from getting from CA to the Snowy east. Perhaps the same is true for the Black Cat?

I saw they announced they're opening for Ash at the Black Cat on Mar 5. Maybe they didn't want to play two gigs at the same venue a month apart.

I enjoyed them. They weren't awe-inspiring, but their diversity makes for an enjoyable show. Smackette really liked them, but then again, most of the girls there liked them.
I thought the lead singer tried a little too hard, but they do a nice job of not sounding too much like their influences, but enough like each one to let you know who they are (The Cure, U2, New Order/Joy Division). But it's so well mixed up that you don't get bored with it. A friend of mine described it as "Danceable Strokes," but I thought it was a litte better than that.
Well worth $10 either way.

The Bravery will be going on 2nd at Fletcher's so get there early…I was told that the closing band, karmella's game, will be going on around 11:30pm, so I guess everyone should get there by 10pm to be safe. It seems Fletcher's has been pushing their shows earlier & earlier, even on weekends.

Damn. I was looking forward to seeing them on the Backstage. I guess I will now be going to the Ash show.

f'ing Brilliant show..
Full of energy..sounded great live..and did an encore of INXS "don't change"
Didn't realize 2 of the guys are from around here. The lead singer's parents were in the audience.
The only thing I was disappointed about..no LP or EP..no merchandise..
I think they may even upstage Ash in March.

brilliant is the last words i would use to describe the Bravery. they were good. but absoltely nothing special or brilliant at all
worth $10 but really, it wasnt all that.
but they were trying really hard. so I'll give em that.
the crowd at Fletchers was kinda odd. mostly it looked like all the people who read the great write-up in Rolling Stone.

I thought the show at Fletcher's was awesome! You gotta give it to them: they have style, attitude, looks AND their music is incredibly fun! I can't wait until the Black Cat show. I wish they'd add in another Baltimore date. I didn't see anyone handing out free stuff…damnit!

Exactly how I felt, especially after seeing the Arcade Fire only days earlier. I was entertained, but not wow'd.
Worth every $ of $10, but nothing that I had to tell people about.
There are quite a few of bands with the look, the attitude and the fun sound that do it better than the Bravery. I felt the lead singer was tring a little too hard, which makes it more of an act. But I'll pick up a used copy of the album in time.

Okay, rather than hijack the Just Announced thread, tell me about these guys. Would I like them (for those of you who have an idea what I go for…)? Am I a complete loser because I don't know them? Are they big enough for a pre-sale? Are there MP3s out there, or better yet, some streaming album or whatever?
Thanks…
