Melissa Etheridge - FOUR nights @ 9:30

I was perusing Pollstar, and Melissa Etheridge is listed to play for four nights at the 9:30 Club: Thurs through Sun, March 25 - 28.

Holy COW. And I think I'll go to one of 'em. I loved her first couple of albums, before her little secret became so defining. "Brave and Crazy" is fantastic.

Wow, that's a lot of shows, considering she's not a local artist "coming home"…maybe she's taping for a DVD release?

why not go to all of them?

I'm pretty sure we'll be passing on that show.

I looked her up, and she's playing three to five shows at House of Blues, LA; The Fillmore, San Fran; House of Blues, Chicago; House of Blues, Anaheim; and someplace in Denver for two nights.

Is it like a travelling PRIDE festival or something?

Hey, I know.

I (1) simply found the long run interesting, and (2) it goes back to '89, '90 for me – part of my jangle pop life included huge dedication to Ms. Etheridge and the Indigo Girls. A couple of those albums were just so important to me as I left college and was scared shitless about the rest of my life.

I had no idea that there were that many lesbians in the area. (Bags excluded. ;) ) It's always seemed that most of the Gays were men. Nice to know the balance of Straights and Gays may be more even then I had thought. It's bad enough that we women already out number the men around here.

you've never been to wolftrap on nites that the Indigo Girls or Ani Difranco are playing. those were my favorite nites to work. the box office was a great place to people watch.
