Good point….yes, they are. There are a few I can handle. ;) Hell, my fave band is the Foo Fighters, I'm obviously not overly critical of the mainstream. It's just those nu metal and…I don't even know what the New Found Glory/MXPX/Pennywise bands are niched as. But, I like Jimmy Eat World, Get Up Kids, OK GO, Lit….I admit it….

i am a little embarassed to admit it, but i agree. i cant stand them. not even thier early stuff, tho it is more bearable.
Embarassed? I'd think you'd be in the majority here….I assume I should go to HFStival.com for my Jimmy Eat World news. :D

Haaaa, that's true. Though Radiohead has cred, and get debated about like nobody's business. Man, why are they so controversial?!?

From Billboard:

Jimmy Eat World Feels Hits The Road

Modern rock act Jimmy Eat World has lined up a host live appearances surrounding the Oct. 19 release of its new Interscope album, "Futures." The itinerary kicks off Sept. 23 with the first of two shows in England, and returns to the States for a Sept. 30 gig in Riverside, Calif.

Jimmy Eat World is also confirmed to appear Oct. 14 on NBC's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and Oct. 22 on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live." The band is expected to be on the road through the end of the year.

"Futures" is already off to a strong start thanks to the single "Pain," which zoomed 29-15 in its second week on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. A "Making the Video" special is tipped to air next month on MTV and MTV2. The second single from the album will likely be "Work."

Oct. 19 will also see the release of the Jimmy Eat World DVD "Believe in What You Want," previously only available from the band's Web site. The film sports 12 tracks recorded in June 2002 at Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club, plus a two-song acoustic performance at the city's Inner Ear Studios.

Here are Jimmy Eat World's tour dates:

Sept. 23: London (Carling Academy)
Sept. 24: Northampton, England (Soundhaus)
Sept. 30: Riverside, Calif. (UCR Recreation Center)
Oct. 19: Pomona, Calif. (Glass House)
Oct. 23: Tempe, Ariz. (Tempe Beach Park)

Oct. 27: Orem, Utah (McKay Events Center)
Extremely cool....
I've never been to the cook-off, but am interested in going this year for the bands AND the chili! Does anyone know how much chili one gets for the price of admission?
