okay, so I know I'm about a week early, but my goal is to get everybody on these boards who doesn't listen to them yet out to their show at the Cat. who's with me?
Rogue Wave
Wuju talkin' bout, Willis?
come to the Black Cat on December 3rd and see for yourself.
What's in it for me?
A REALLY GOOD BAND!
are you into the Shins at all?
are you into the Shins at all?
the shins totally changed my life!!!!!!!!!11
I do like the Shins!
well, fan-fuckin'-tastic.
i personally think that Rogue Wave sound like a better/slightly more electro-y version of The Shins. i mean, they both have got the same thing goin', but Rogue Wave are doin' their own thing. both bands write intelligent, witty lyrics. though Rogue Wave, while reminding me of The Shins, are NOT a carbon copy. they are another Sub Pop band. but they just rule. this show will be fairly uncrowded, too. i haven't seen 'em live yet but they are totally awesome on recording.
oh, my brother did, and said they ruled.
i am surprised that nobody else on these boards has chimed in yet…

Well, basically unless it's Oasis, Interpol, or Hootie you're not gonna get much of a stir here. ;)
I'll chime in. I think the Shins are far superior to Rogue Wave.
I also think it sucks that Rogue Wave is going to be opening on the Nada Surf tour. That's going to make what promised to be a crowded small venue even more crowded.

Originally posted by Etan de Balzac, Footie Ball Player:oh man! though, as much as i hate to say it, that sounds like one hell of a good lineup. so the Shins are better than Rogue Wave; but you still are a fan, correct? are you coming to the show?

i just think i'm going to be really disappointed if there are, like, four people there. i think this band is really great. and yes, i did just say it. great. and i meant it, too.
When is this show again? It's a busy week next week, but I've heard from a few folks R.W. are worth checking out.
Yeah, perhaps I'll pop by. Will you buy me my ticket?
i would (suckah!!!), except i'm already paying for my brother for his birthday/he loves rogue wave and is pretty broke right now…
the only person i ever let pimp crac–TICKETS off of me is the one i love most dearly, of blood relation.
its next Saturday night

I was thinking of popping by the Wag that night anyway, so perhaps I'll do both, if I can kick this damn flu :(
good boy!
feel better…
feel better…
The band opening for Rogue Wave, Mazarin, is UTTERLY FANTASTIC. If I decide to go to the show, it'll be 70% just for me to see Mazarin. Someone said the Shins most totally changed their vida. (Spanlish en la casa.) Well, let me just say that Mazarin certainly enriched mine for the better as well. If you're debating whether not to go to the show, just go and say you did it for Mazarin!

And by "hats off," I mean ride her bare-back.
i'm definitely going to be there for mazarin, saw them two weeks ago in austin, they're worth it on their own (tho I really dig Rogue Wave too)
OK, I'm sold on it. Think it will sell out? I'd rather not have to pay TicketMaster fees to purchase it in advance and I won't be near the club before the show.
