Someone replaced the original audio with wankery that closely matches the playing that is seen.
Ok. Thanks. I did think some of them were funny. Like the one where Slash uses the talkbox but makes bird noises. I was just a little thrown because the guy who did them matched up the fake audio with the fretting and picking on the video VERY well. He had me fooled.

Now, what does this say about guitar solo worshipping in general?

Blah. Mr. Big. Yuck. A friend of mine really liked Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, etc etc when we were in Middle School. I could never get into that.

Kinda like those silly cats that bring up Yngwie Malmsteen, Vai, Satriani, & 'em when I say Hendrix is the G.O.A.T. of guitarists. That's like comparing Jordan to an And 1 Streetballer or the Harlem Globetrotters.

Exactly. He also couldn't stand Hendrix and thought that Les Pauls and Strats were old man guitars.
Fast forward 17 years and now he's playing a Les Paul in his band.

No. I don't think it's awful playing. It's better than most people can play. It's pretty good guitar playing. Also having to match up with what they (Clapton, Santana, etc.) are playing is tough. It has to be "bad" but still match up, sort of. It may be a little too ironic for me but some of them were funny. There's some flubs but it's pretty good.
Brian
P.S. I'm excited. I'm seeing a really good bluegrass revue, next Sunday.

To be honest, the playing intentionally sucks. I'm glad you like it, but that wasn't the guitarists intention.

If your last DC area show was reviewed by Channel 4 news, you definitely aren't obscure:

Thanks, ggw. I bet you sweetcell didn't even know Daft Punk until after the Coachella 2006 buzz :)

Brian. Child. You need some educating. Here is what a true
guitar god sounds like. Such a shame though that he fell off of his pedestal and so early on.
