Most beautiful music venue you've been to?

The Derby in LA where they film the swing dancing scenes in Swingers is one of the nicest clubs I've ever been in. It's hard to believe that during the 70s they actually covered up it's ceiling. There was a ballroom in DC that would have been very nice if they ever restored it. It had a sprung floor like the Commorode Ballroom…
SWINGERS!!
The Barns at Wolf Trap
Indoor - have to agree with Kosmo and Venerable: small club is the Derby, larger venue is The Filmore.

Outdoor - tie between to LA venues: The Hollywood Bowl is amazing and so is The Greek up by Griffith Park Observatory with the lights and the trees.
i've got to put merriweather right up there…

How did I forget Greek Theatre? Such a great place to see a show. It's beautiful and outdoors and holds quite a good number of people, but it doesn't feel as huge as other outdoor venues…it's a pain to get in and out of there, but it beats Nissan any day, and is soooo gorgeous.

That's when you grab a blanket and a bottle of wine and go make out in the trees overlooking the city lights until the traffic clears.

I'm going to start charging you for these life-learned lessons someday…
Life-learned lessons? I go to all my LA shows with my brother!!

…Now, if by chance I'm there again with someone else, that sounds good. It is very pretty up there.

PS Strathmore's good for that sort of thing, too. But you didn't hear it from me.
I'm so excited…I get to experience the Hollywood Bowl in just over a month!
The Camden Palace, London?

Re: Merriwether – that place is lovely on a starlit summer night with vague wisps of illicit smoke drifting over the picnic blankets….

bring a hoodie. it gets cold up there after dark.

oh, and…edit…but, i'm going to give you another little tip here.
do NOT try and park by there. do not have someone drop you before a show unless you plan on going really early, or missing your show. there are a bunch of little shuttle-y type busses that go from around Hollywood and Highland - pay for parking around there, and then take the bus. it will save you a lot of grief.
Wow…many thanks for the tip! I'll definitely do that.
convocation hall at the university of toronto. it has a stained glass cupola dome that makes it absolutely breathtaking at nights when there is a full or nearly full moon shining thru it.

i also like the vintage feel of the state theatre. makes me feel like i'm in middle america in the 1920's. and joe's pub in nyc. just gorgeous pressed tin ceiling.
Outside: Red Rocks, town park Telluride, Glasto at dusk on Friday

Inside: Royal Albert Hall
I forgot the Riverside Church in NYC for Spiritualized.
I'm going to say Wolf Trap, too.

As for indoors, I can't say I've been to too many places that I would consider "beautiful," but Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore is rather nice. The Strathmore looks great from the pictures though, but I've never been inside.
Nissan.

the parking lot is fantastic.
Coachella
Teatro Kursaal (San Sebastian)
Strathmore

And I thought Liberty State Park was amazing when I saw Radiohead there in '01

(Edit: Come to think of it, ANY venue is beautiful if Radiohead is playing :D )

especially when you and all your friends decide to conduct mock tribal rituals around your minivan in a hillarious attempt to scare the drunkies
I haven't see enough around the world…So, I guess Warner Theater is pretty cool.
Iota: artwork was done by Jane (co-owner), brick walls are cozy, NYCish, (although cumbersome for viewing); and the strewn lights help my photos look fantastic.

I used to think Strangeways was cool w/ all of the mirrors.
