uh oh…I've just come back from vacation, and only now realised my birthday is 3 weeks away. I'm turning 21 and I don't have anything planned…

It's hard to recommend something if you haven't said what it is you're into. Are you looking to shake your ass, are you partying w/ your girls, are you on the man prowl, etc.???

Or you could simply go with ggw's recommendation. Not my cup of tea, but apparently doing coke is the new black. :D

Get wasted and run around the mall throwing fireworks at bums.

I've always found the more effort you put into these things, the bigger the disappointment. Just gather up some friends, hit a bar (I'm always fond of the Fox & Hound or Big Hunt because you can actually talk to each other) and get drunk.

well, I'm up for pretty much anything. I have a boyfriend and not many friends…I just want to do something 21-ish. but not being practiced in the art of legality, I have no idea what people over the age of 21 do or where they go.

Well, I'm not positive or anything, but I heard a rumor once that people over 21 drink alcohol. But don't take my word on that one.

There used to be a great dive bar called Samantha's on L, but that's long gone. I would have suggested that.

I agree with nkotb, hit the M street/Dupont area and with a small group and see how many bars you can hit. There's quite a few there.

And don't pay for a single drink - it's your 21st for god's sake!
