Pitchfork Festival - anyone going?

Anyone in the forum going? It's really tempting…

There will also be a pre-party at the Metro with Sunset Rubdown, Voxtrot, and the Joggers!
I'll be there. Got my tickets a while ago. Amazing lineup for $30. My plan is to stay in Chicago for the week and go to Lolla the following weekend.

I envy you…but if I do that, I'll miss Sleater Kinney, Rentals, and Pretenders at the 930…so I think it's fair ;)
I'm going.
I was going to go, but had to cancel. I just bought a car, so now I don't have any money right now for a trip. For people that go, check out Flatstock at Pitchfork. It's a bunch a people that do concert posters around the country. A lot of good stuff…

Damn I want to go to this….not possible. Gggrrrr.
good lineup, but it just sounds boring to me. I mean is there really like a party going on here or is it a ton of folded armed indie kids staring at rock bands and the like?

anyone ever been before?
i'll be there for the pre-party, the festival, and sleater-kinney when i get back here. it's gonna be a fun couple of days.
Well, something came up at the last minute and now I can't make this one. Just Lollapalooza now.

Oh well, I've pretty much seen all the bands I want to anyway. I'm just bummed that I'll be missing Os Mutantes. And I also wanted to see Silver Joos again…
os mutantes?
fuck yes.
As much as I hate pitchfork, I'll take that lineup over Lolapalooza or Virgin Festival lineups.

And if I remember correctly, the cost was only a small fraction of the other two.

Yeah, I think this is the best lineup out of all the festivals this year. Well, this one or Sasquatch.

Tix were only $30 for two days.
I thought it was a great festival.

Art Brut took home the blue ribbon.

Me too :)
Anyone see the Silver Jews set there? How was it? Malkmus?
silver jews was great. best/craziest was the liars+man man. yo la was good. best part about it was they did not rape people for food + water. big bottles of water were $1, if you did not get one for free. food was local, good + reasonable. just like lolla last yr it was almost 100 degrees. the announcer might have been the best part of the show.
did anyone see Jens Lekman? looks like a super-short set from ggw's schedule, i wish i had been able to go up to NYC and see his 2 shows a couple of weekends ago
Jens is one of the few acts in this lineup that I haven't seen live before, and so another reason I regret missing this festival. But it looks like he was given a solid hour or so. On at 2, then Liars at 3:30.
