OK Go news

And about a year ago, Ok Go played the 9:30 Club twice, with Superchunk opening both nights. They're both on Merge (and the assumption I made was that Merge was hoping OK would bring in a younger, new audience for the 'Chunk).

I've never seen Ok…so I have no clue what their show is like.
i think that was the get up kids
DAMN – you're right!! I confuse the two bands because I got their albums at the same time. I like the Get Up Kids way more – in fact, I think I've been thinking of them all along! But I do have Ok Go, and it's okay. I'm going home now to listen to them both.

Man, suddenly I feel old, and as if I'm losing my mind. I was thinking of Get Up Kids. Damn.
Well, I'm an idiot, but….

At Recher Theatre â?¢ 512 York Road, Towson, MD:

MARCH 2004

Su 14 Get Up Kids
Either you are are completely senile, or that was the most elaborate get out of liking one of the worst live acts I have ever seen. Which is it to be?
I must be senile, because I'm listening to Ok Go now and it's fine. It's catchy, upbeat – not earth shattering, but got a little jellyfish in there.

Again, they may suck live, but I like the album.

Get Up Kids are better, and I was thinking of them, but I won't try to back out of my declaration that I like Ok Go.

Hey, we all have guilty pleasures….(though I don't know why this is quite so 'guilty').
Too late. You've outed yourself. You're credless. You might as well hang out with Rhett.

Well, we got a good idea, so we pulled off the road.
Got some Molly Hatchet going on the stereo
I said, "Let's get out the nitrous and let the windows go up"
Now I can't stop laughing, can't stop laughing

I saw Molly Hatchet at Jaxx last year. There was only one original member of the band left and he dedicated the encore to his cardiologist's brother, who was in the audience.

I think their next tour is going to be sponsored by Lipitorâ?¢
I have a vivid memory of my cousin Mark, who grew up in Daytona Beach, gushing about Molly Hatchet and Rainbow at a family reunion. I wonder if he's a fan of Britpop as well?
Molly Hatchet? Christ, y'all are such rednecks. :)

Richie Blackmore Rulezzz!
I saw Molly Hatchet in 1980 at the Palladium in NYC. The Michael Schencker Group(ex-Scorpions, UFO) opened. So there.

Bags, I think OK Go opened for the Donnas at 930 club early last year. But i'm not positive–you weren't there, I went with Sing Sang and Rog. don't really remember much about OK Go. The donnas were fun…

Yup, that's it. I was out of town and had to miss the show. And afterwards, I got the Ok Go album and liked it.

But it's all moot to me now, because I'm MUCH MUCH luckier and will be seeing Urge Overkill in NY that weekend instead. WAY better!!!

;)

Were there 2 Donna's shows? I went to one just to see Superdrag open and left before the Donna's played. I know I saw okgo with The Vines. (I just remembered, wasn't there a 9:30 Club Donna's show as well, is that what people are talking about?)
