OK Go news

So, Black Cat has OK Go on their schedule for Sat., Feb 7.

I'm, of course, out of town. Will be in NY, so *hoping* they'll be there on Friday….but there's nothing in Pollstar or on the OK Go website (which looks a month or more out of date).

Just wondering if anyone here has news or knows where to get it.
A number of board members are going to laugh at you for liking this band. But don't be deterred, sometimes that's a compliment.
You might want to go on the corporate lawyer chatboard and ask their dad what the schedule is.
I will not be deterred, Rhett. Whatever it is they're supposed to be, I came to them unbiased and I really enjoy the two albums I have.

God knows they're no worse than Bright Eyes, which I think is the worst band I've heard in ages, but has more indie cred. I just don't give a frig.
Having heard OK Go live before, I can't think of a much more unsatisfying thing to do than go see them again.

That being said, I saw Bright Eyes too, and much much prefer his CD's over his live sound. They both kinda suck live. There, happy?
Hmmm, yeah, happy. I'd still like to give OK a try….I won't break my back trying to do so, but what the hey. And maybe I'll find a hot 23 year old to mack on! ;)
okay, bags, god knows i loves you, but comparing ok go to bright eyes and saying the latter sucks more is just a testament to … skewed taste. bwa ha ha ha. i bought ok go's album, listened to it, threw up, burnt it, and then never thought of it again until now.
Yeah, I don't know why I brought up Bright Eyes, except that I heard a couple songs last night and I think it is so wretched. But in answer to Rhett, they seemed like an example of an indie cred band that I just don't get (but don't disparage – I don't get it, but also don't care if OK Go aren't all creded out….I like 'em).

Don't know how you could throw up…but, it's what makes the world go 'round.

hmmm, I have seen Bright Eyes 3 times, 2 of them were pretty bad, but the show before last at 9:30 club was one of the best shows I have ever seen by anybody
Vomiting makes the world go round?
i aint got no indie cred either.

i'm sitting here playing that great new band, Fountains of Wayne.

go ahead and vomit and make the world go around.
FoW is the bomb. I'll take 'indie loser' any day if I get to listen to FoW….
it is amusing to me that the people who talk about cred are primarily the people who claim not to have cred, I wonder how many people there actually are who pick up a cd and wonder to themselves if it has enough cred
Probably only those who could be instant hires at Pitchfork.

did Ok Go open for the Vines or was that a different show? dunno which band was worse.. sorry.
wasn't at the show, but yes they did.

also opened for phantom planet, but we arrived too late to catch all but the last song

saw PP too but probably not the same show as it was a good while ago. The Vines aren't so bad on record though methinks, there were a lot more ballads than I was expecting, and their 2 singles still get me going.
I think, pollard, it's about the lack of cred. "Hmm, look at this CD. Yeah, but it's supposed to be really mainstream – something the kids like." I can see that sentence running through some heads in a record store.

And about a year ago, Ok Go played the 9:30 Club twice, with Superchunk opening both nights. They're both on Merge (and the assumption I made was that Merge was hoping OK would bring in a younger, new audience for the 'Chunk).

I've never seen Ok…so I have no clue what their show is like.
OK-Go is on Capitol.

I don't think Superchunk opened for them at 9:30, but i could be wrong on that one.
