I don't see where it's bad karma to sell your concert tickets, if the money you will receive is good enough.
Just about anything I own is for sale if the price is right. It's not like there's anything holy or sacred about concert tickets. Get a fucking grip. If I had a pair, and someone offered me $400, you bet your ass I'd sell. My wife would beat my ass if I didn't.

i agree totally. it blows my mind that people get on these message board and on craigslist and complain about how much concert tickets are going for. I would understand for a show like audioslave at 930 that sold out instantly and a lot of people got shut out. But on a show like the pogues, you had over 3 hours to buy them, just like everybody else..including those who bought them to re-sell them. If you wanted them that bad, you would have gotten off your ass, stopped thinking you're the only person who listens to a band, and bought tickets early. you didn't, and now you've got to pay for your mistake.

You are missing the point that tickets weren't supposed to be on sale till 5:30 (advance) then saturday (public). Plenty of people who really wanted to go were logged into the advance sale at 5:30. People who are on the 930 mail list lucked out after a communication lapse between the club and the promoters. Things happen, and rotten luck for some of us, but spare me the "too bad", "lazy" and "mistake" spiel. it's just not the case for plenty of people who really wanted to go .

I shouldn't be surprised that people would sell their tickets for $400. If you want to go ahead and be a capitalist, nobody is stopping you. But I find it pretty sick that people find it OK to gouge music fans just because they weren't sitting on their ass in front of a computer when tickets went on sale. Some people have jobs that require them to be in other places and thus don't have the luxury of buying tickets online when they go on sale. I guess for me music is a little too sacred and I respect the musicians too much to do something like that. Ticket scalper is up there with papparazzo in my opinon.
If someone is dumb enough to pay $400 for the Pogues tickets, then great, but I think some things should be sacred. People who think there is a price for everything have no soul.

I think you were limited to no more than four tickets per purchase for this show.

No junk folder on my work email. And judging by how many emails I get trying to sell erectile dysfunction pills, I'm guessing that very little of my email is being filtered out…

Normally I would agree with the argument that most people are just too lazy to get tickets right away, but not this time. It's not unreasonable to assume that the band's website has the correct info - particularly when the info was correct for every other show. I wouldn't expect anyone to check tickets.com several times a day, several days before the posted sale date. I'm sure plenty of the folks that missed out would have gladly camped in front of their computer on Thurday or taken time off of work to stand in line, had they been given the correct info ahead of time.
It certainly pays to be proactive, but I think people have a legitimate gripe about how this went down.
