Favorite holiday songs/albums?
All I want for Christmas is Us by Jason Mraz and Tristan Prettyman. That youtube video is the best I could find. I first heard the song at their 930 club show years ago.

I've actually found that album hit or miss - though for the most part I like it. When it's a good Christmas song, it's great, but when it's bad, it's really bad and I have to skip the track. He can probably make 1 great christmas mix CD though, maybe two.

I can't believe I agree with vansmack about ANYTHING but I agree on those two. Pass, on No Doubt's version of "Oi", though. It hurts my head. If you watch the video though, you can pinpoint the exact moment when the horn players sort of got kicked out of the band. Before, "Oi" they were a SoCal Madness. Afterwards, they're three white guys and Gwen.
"Father Christmas" by The Kinks
"Mistress For Christmas" by AC/DC
And not a Christmas song, per se, but Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews really do the greatest version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" ever.
It's Welsh-tastic! Brian
P.S. Isn't it about time for a Winehouse/Doherty remake of "Fairytale?"

The only Christmas music, other than hymns sung in church, that I can listen to is The Vince Guaraldi Trio. The other stuff just gets too hokey.

The Louis Armstrong/Vilma Middleton version is the best, and
this remix off one of my favorite Xmas albums of all time is incredible as well:

I don't celebrate Christmas, but Last Christmas by Wham.
If I even THINK about the song it gets stuck in my head. "Last Christmas/ I gave you my heart/ then the very next day/ you gave it away/ this year/ to save me from tears…"

Nonsense! Can I remind you it's TOM JONES!!!!

and CERYS MATTHEWS!!!

I don't care if it's remixed or not. That version's nostalgic, old-farty and both of the people singing are dead. You gotta sex that song up! Robbie Williams style!
Brian
P.S. Is Louis Armstrong dying in that song? Jesus! Kevin Dubrow probably was in finer voice this weekend!

Are you a female without a significant other at Xmas time?
Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm just saying, those are three pretty downer Xmas songs and the ultimate I'm alone at Xmas with a near happy ending song.
