hmmm, it was a ho-hum year for albums, but there were plenty of great tunes nestling out there on mediocre albums

I'll agree with that. I am now collaborating the Top 400 singles of the year, per 22 people across this vast country, and Canada, and its looking like a lot of different artists with just one good song..

My guilty pleasure this year is the same as it is every year until they take it off the air:

Smallville.

Though I don't really feel guilty about it.
