Good to see they're keeping their indie cred intact.

well, The Killers and Paul McCartney will be there as headliners…not excited about either.

I will tell you that Basement Jaxx put on one of the best and most surprising sets i've seen at Coachella. It was….i guess the Cure or someone on the main stage and Basement Jaxx simply exploded on the 2nd stage. I dont even think anyone expected it. We wandered by about 10 minutes in and there were maybe 3000 people in front of the stage, by the end of the set it must have tripled. and everyone was going totally insane.
pretty spontaneous, which is what i loved about coachella. not sure that kinda stuff happens there anymore.

I'd strongly consider going to VFest if Paul McCartney were heading…. Saw him in 2001 and it was a great show, about the strongest set list in the biz, accompanied with tremendous visuals, and his younger backing band really ignited his performance. Kosmette said it was the best concert she had ever attended…
Of course it would be cool to hear some of the tracks from The Fireman release done live as well…

on the upside, this means that FF and the chem bros will be in north america and with some luck they'll be booked for east coast concerts. both are not-to-be-missed shows, notwithstanding the formers most recent album.
i've never seen BJaxx live but i can imagine that they're a ton of fun too.

Are the Foo Fighters really that big? Like, I knew they were big around here because they're semi-hometown-ish and I know they get shit played on MTV which doesn't say a lot but I mean. I didn't know that had such a big national fanbase.

you do realize they sold out wembley stadium, right? their arena shows sell out within an hour, often a lot less. yeah, i'd say they're pretty big.
EDIT: i guess the question is "are they STILL that big?"… their last album wasn't that great and they haven't done much recently. then again, they are supposedly on an extended hiatus, so any show is bound to attracted their fans.

I actually like to "Brochella" headliners more, despite them being mostly containing dead guys. and i just noticed the amazing booking of Neutral Milk Hotel performing a Limp Bizkit album. and not even the one that was popular.

Shit Shit Shit!
http://coachella.com/event/lineupWhat's the over/under on when Winehouse backs out? March 10th?
Also…no Jaxx.
The 3rd day is edging out to be the best day so far, lineup wise. Even though I'm wondering how is Antony going to be at a festival like that?

wow, that' huge for thievery - headlining their own stage, in all likelihood. good for them. they even got billing above TVotR!
will MBV bring in their own sound system and crank it to level that they are accustomed to, or will they have to limit themselves to "normal" festival volume?

shoooot, I was right about Leonard Cohen ;D ;D ;D
Sunday looks great. Saturday needs a real headliner, as I don't think the Killers are big enough/good enough.

wow, that actually is a really nice lineup. while the top 3 dont impress me, there are some pretty decent sub-headliners and some gems at the bottom. Perhaps its cause i've been to 5 shows in the least 6 months that i havent seen any of these guys already!

I'm telling you, that third day is ACE.
Aside from Roni Size, Groove Armada, Paolo Nutini, Christopher Lawrence, Late of the Pier, K'Naan, Gaslight Anthem and Brian Jonestown Massacre, I'd want to see all of those bands.
It's ace.

That's funny, because to me that day is by far the weakest.
