O'Mankie meets his hero.......

…..well one of them anyway.
In the music world, there's only three people I would really like to meet and I met one last night.
We went to The Beautiful South show at the Cork Opera house last night….great show for those interested. Anyway, after the show we were walking to the car and happen to walk past the stage door. Low and behold if it isn't Paul Heaton himself stood at the back door signing a few autographs for folk. Not being one who's interested in meeting celebs, I had to make an exception this time. He was more than happy to sign our ticket stubs. I thanked him and shook his hand and he just said, "thank you for coming to the show"…..what a decent bloke to say he's quite the big celeb in UK/Ireland.
Oh, the other two? Morrissey and Bowie.

I was thinking about Shane as well, or Mike Scott. Have you visited the place where the Waterboys recorded Fisherman Blues? By the way, tonight pay attention to both games, not only Man. United-Milan. the one at Stamford Bridge is going to be great. I am going to see the game here in Bolivia with Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich fans that can't stand Mourinho.

I would include Shane, but I think it would be a bit of a disaster seeing as he hates the English like he does…..me being English and all.
Mike Scott would be interesting, but with him being on another planet from the rest of us, I don't think we would quite hit it off.
I was just narrowing it down to the top three.
Barca….I hope to God your team can put that arrogant pig Mourinho out of the competition. The honeymoon period is over for him in the UK now, so everyone is sick of his comments at this point. He's already complaining about tonights match and it hasn't even happened yet!!!!!!! I'm hoping Milan are marking RVN so close they don't see Scholesy and Rooney sneaking in to get a goal a piece and get through to the last 8!!!!

what about Ronaldinho's second goal? One of the best we may have ever seen? 3-2. Right now we are there, quarter finals, but this can finish 5-2 or 3-4, what a game!!!

Didn't see the Chelski v Barca match…and couldn't even stomach watching anymore footie after United's exit….but I'm sure it was an entertaining game, even if a high scoring game at this level speaks volumes of weak defences.
United were beaten by a much better team… MY GOD! Even the 42nd battalion of the Royal Marines with air support from the RAF Tornado Squadron couldn't have broken down that defence. Hats off to Milan. I hope they go all the way now.
My prediction ……. United will spend a few £££'s during the summer, win the Champions League next year and Roy Keane will retire after the match.

In my case, the sadness is going to last a few weeks. However, I had a little bit of happiness today seeing Madrid out the last 8. Just one comment, Beckham is such a bad player, maybe he hasn't got used to spanish football, but man, he is such a mediocre player in Spain, he could play in Santander, Real Sociedad or any team in the middle of the table and he would still have to fight to be in the main squad.

Beckham sells a lot of merchandise…that's why he's a Real Madrid player (like most of them actually). He has definately struggled since his move, and I would not have him back at Old Trafford now. (Never thought I would utter such words)
Hey Smackie…at least Arseholes are out, that's something to smile about. :D

Who'd you like to win it? I'll go with Liverpool, PSV or Lyon.

I like the Spanish coach they have. Also, they have three spanish players, it would be nice for them. And Gerrard, that is an incredible player. Actually I would like to see them defeating Chelsea in the next round, if that's possible.
