We're playing Iota this Saturday. Hope some of you can stop by and catch our set..other opening bands are listed on the Iota page and it looks like it'll be a fun night all around…see ya there!

Wish I knew…considering we're 3rd on the bill I would assume sometime at about 11:30pm.. I'm sure anyone who has been to Iota before could have a better idea…

Hoya…of course I'm kidding about the Freebird part…

We will be going last, we know that for sure as per our conversation with the booking agent…so if the first act goes on at 9:45-10 we will be on at about 11:45 methinks..

Fico, do you know anything about the event earlier in the day? Though it's impossible for me to do so, I'd like to see A Girl Called Eddy, assuming that it is the band that I'm thinking of. It's that other stuff noted that makes it sound like it might be kind of shitty but I really don't have a clue.

I'll try to make it if I can. A lot will depend on how nasty the weather gets and other factors as I do have to work that day.

Fico, was handed your 2-song sampler after the Ash show. Great stuff!!! Great voice if that's you.. I can't make the Saturday show but have alreay marked my calendar for April

A Girl Called Eddy is the female sing who gets her inspiration from the likes of Dusty Springfield and Nico. She reminds me a bit of Aimee Mann but possibly a bit more soulful. She's also mentioned often in the same breathe as Beth Orten and Tracey Thorn. The record is really nice, and a Matinee at the Iota could be a great place to catch her…

Jaguar, the girl called Eddy show must be some sort of matinee (early show) as Kosmo said…She's not part of the later bill that includes us. We are scheduled to have load-in and soundcheck at 6:30pm so I reckon her performance will be finished by then.

helicon, I was actually handing out the samplers last night..glad you liked it…alas I don't sing..I'm just a humble bass player who keeps his shirt on :p

You can read more about them in todays Post, but I think A Girl Called Eddy is actually the opening act for Keran Ann. And yes, it's a 3 pm show.

And here's WOXY playing Cartel again. Polly Jean, great tune. I hope to be there. I know of Brice Woodall; his former band sounded a bit like Radiohead (not a total ripoff, but similar), and he does good pop singer/songwriter stuff.

Hey Fico, in case you missed it, the DJ on WOXY just said, after Polly Jean was done, "Hey, I'm really digging this band Cartel, from DC. You should go to carteldc.com to check them out. They have a 5 song EP that's great. An unsigned band. Check them out."

Wow that is outstanding news for us!!!…the folxs at Woxy have been above and beyond nice to us…we really just sent out a press kit to them not knowing what to expect and all of a sudden we get played a couple of times a day and they read our bio on the air or mention our future shows…and we're chuffed about it…traffic to the website is up, cds sold online are up, attendance to shows is up…so Woxy is partly to blame for that..and we couldn't be happier!!

It's great to hear you'll be coming to the show..make sure you say hello either before or after the show..there's lots to do on any given night and that people care enough to come to our shows has never (and hopefully will never) been lost upon us..
