Editors roll call :)

I'm in.
There - for Lake Trout!
We'll be there for the openers.
Hell yes. Seen Editors four times this year, and will see them any time they come to the area. Phenomenal live band.

And always a pleasure to see Cedars.
Speaking of Cedars…we finished our record yesterday and uploaded some songs into our myspace http://www.myspace.com/cedars

take a listen, if you like it be sure to check us out on Thursday w/ Editors and Lake Trout.

Cheerio'
I'll be there! Loved Editors when I saw them earlier this year with Stellastarr*. Really looking forward to seeing them as headliners. I think I was one of the first (if not the first) to purchase a ticket for this show, back when it was $25 instead of the now $15…. And I thought it was a bargain at $25!

Yeah Editors are fantastic…and everyone should dismiss the jam-band tag given to Lake Trout..it's not accurate at all…and yes..I reckon 8:15pm would be a good time to be at the club for Cedars.. :)
Wow, I hadn't noticed the price dropped. I had been thinking $25 was a bit steep, as I've just seen the Editors a few months ago. But, with Cedars on the bill, I'm likely to make it.

So how does the club deal with the situation in which the ticket price goes down? (I'm not sure I've ever seen that before…)

A mysterious refund showed up on my credit card statement and then, like a week later, tickets.com mailed me a new ticket with the $15 face value, along with some other tickets I had just purchased. I was rather confused at first. Thought tickets.com screwed up and mailed me an extra ticket, but then I noticed that the face value was different… Another week or so later, I think, someone from tickets.com called me on the phone to let me know of the refund, but I had already put two and two together and figured it out by that point. Not sure what they do for people who purchase tickets with cash at the box office, though I imagine they must do something.

No, their servers were affected by some black outs down the coast.

Yeah, you're right Fico about Lake Trout. They've had a complete make-over, music-wise. Bet their Jam fans hate them now. LOL.

I've been wondering if it's yet another Enron kind of scam where they are intentionally exploiting the situation and creating rolling blackouts even though they don't have any real need to solely to play mind games to extort more money. You know, one of those 'action/reation/solution' scams.

I'm sure it is.

If I only knew someone who worked at the California Public Utilities Commission who could tell me why I can't hear the new Cedars tracks……

ahhh, paranoia.

well, considering that myspace is a free web site, and that it is one of the most popular webpages, it uses alot of electricity, couple that with an expected peak demand that will nearly met the state's generation capacity, myspace probably heeded the call of the governor and decreased its energy usage.

as of right now, there have been no blackouts ordered by the california iso. . .in fact, i don't think there have been any blackouts anyway in the state. . new york and st. louis, that's a different matter.

i wrote and erased a long bit about electricity markets, but i deleted it because i felt depressed that i could write so much about electricity markets and how enron was able to exploit market rules, legally, to do what they did.

edited to add- myspace is not the only webpage experiencing this problem; the california iso's web page is extremely slow today too, and they are responsible for managing the grid in california.
Spoken like a true lackey of THE MAN…but that's why I live by the coast. Way too unpredictable elsewhere in the state.

It's only paranoia when it's not real.

Enron and the like have more than taught me that this kind of stuff is all too real.

So Bede, why aren't you up at Bohemian Grove right now sucking it all up with your good buddies? :p

Sometimes 103-115 degree whether all along the coast – including possible highs of 105 in Portland, OR – causes blackouts, too. ;)

Not to mention that most regions of the country are experiencing record high temps, leaving little ability to move 'excess' power from one region to another.
