i'm in a musical rut

Help me out people… I sit down late at night to do my serious listening and I need to breathe new life into the collection. Need some new stuff. Recommendations please? Here's some of what i've been spinning a lot of the last 6 months or so to give you an idea of where I'm coming from…

Spacemen 3
Nick Cave
Band of Horses
Shins
BJM
High Dials
newest Greenhornes EP (not so new now)
BRMC
The Clean

Help please..hook a brother up. Since the demise of Oink I'm in a big rut.

Bonus points for bands that make guy who hasn't done drugs in 10 + years feel like he's on drugs. If it bums me out I'll probably be a sucker for that too.
Off the top of my head….

The new Dead Meadow has some overtones of BRMC's "Howl."

Black Mountain might be considered to have some Spacemen 3 influence.

Times New Viking and Working for a Nuclear Free City may be up your alley also.

Siblings Courtney and Brad Shanks continue to rank as one of the best male/female vocal tag teams in the business, unselfishly spreading the wealth and appropriating songs best suited to their tics. - Pitchfork

"Loud-quiet-loud has never been so dizzying." 9/10 - Onion AV Club

"What really impresses on the quintet's sophomore stunner is the way Black Mountain effortlessly shift from devastating to devastatingly beautiful." 9/10 - Alternative Press

"In The Future showcases a group who knows exactly what they're doing." 8/10 - Mojo

"On repeated listening the impression [of being a genre exercise or a hipster parody] gives way to the songs themselves, envisioning angels and demons and plaintively wondering about violence and inevitable desolation." - 8/10 New York Times

"It's this mix of the loud and the trippy that Black Mountain specializes in, and In the Future sees the band striving for epic proportions." 8/10 Billboard

You'll find a lot of that kind of music on Air Atlantic Underground Radio. At least, in the general stream which is most of the air time at present. You can click on the Broadcast Schedule link at the top of the radio page to see when any specialty shows air. Only two at present, one of which does not at all fit what you may be looking for but a few others may prefer it.

I'm still working on ripping and uploading lots more music but what you just described is one of the types of music that I have a strong penchant for. Bet you'll find some new music or maybe rediscover some you've left behind.

Off hand, I think you'll get a kick out of the song I've got streaming by Airiel called You Kids Should Know Better. You'd probably also enjoy The December Sound for that BRMC flavor. Screen Vinyl Image too has that heavy Psychedelic drug drenched Warholesque feel. Speaking of Spacemen 3, The Darkside have a song streaming as I type. (Off-shoot band of an ex-Spacemen 3 member.) Barzin will make you cry with the song Past All Concerns. Gorgeously melancoly. Highspire has a song up called Sub Par Life, A Brillant Death (just started streaming at the moment) which is very down and druggy. I've also got a couple songs streaming by The Flies which is Sean Cook's (ex-Spiritualized and Lupine Howl) new band. Their song Lord Of The Flies I'm sure would fit exactly what you are looking for. They are sending me their latest CD so more by The Flies is due. (Not to be confused by the Garage band by the same name.) Oh, new Bauhaus too. And The Telescopes song The Perfect Needle is, well, just that.

Funny how some of us use music as our drug of choice. :D

Brian Walalce will hate it!
The new Boris and Raveonettes also make great use of the wall of sound/fuzz in completely different ways. The new Apes may also be what you're looking for psychedelic/druggy-wise.

P.S. The combination of waffles and indietorrents has me not really missing oink that much, honestly.
How about using Anywhere.fm to upload and share legally ones music via streaming
judging by your list, I'd hardly say you're in a rut. look at mankie, he's still listening to annie lennox and abc. that's a rut. :D
your mailbox is full. Are ya saving love notes from mankie?

I've been in a rut since 1987!!!!
It happens but recently Gogol Bordello and Midnight Juggernauts have been blasting out of my computer.

And The new Mars Volta album is growing on me real realll fast
Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far….keep them coming if so inclined.
my brain is fuzzy but i guess that doesn't count…
Have you listened to The National yet? I've been enjoying both their albums as of late.

I'm playing this a lot in my car, a good mix and opening my eyes (or is that ears) to bands I haven't heard before. Kasabian comes to mind…rather Stone Roses sounding.

When in a rut, go to compilations.
recently heard chez sweetcell, and recommended:

Burial - Untrue (pseudo-glitch with an extra dose of schizo - very trippy)
A Mountain of One - Collected Works (good mix of live instruments and electronica)
AmpLive - Rainydayz (RH's In Rainbows remixed, free!)
God Is An Astronaut - Far From Refuge (prep'ing for next month's show)

will give yeasayers a spin tonight or tomorrow hopefully.

when i'm in need of a some listening suggestions, i troll through the What Are You Listening To? thread.
