Looking for a band that...

Doesn't this describe about half the bands that play the 9:30 Club?  :-*

…fits the following description:

early 90's airplay with modest chart success
a smattering of albums since
somehow, the still hold a following that will sell 600-900 tickets at $20-25 whenever they come around, despite a lack of airplay in years

There's no right or wrong answer - just curious to see what artists better minds than mine might offer
I was thinking it described more Rams Head Live, but that may be 80s!

i've always been surprised at how often cowboy mouth plays at the club for $25 or so, and how often it sells out. they haven't had much/any radio play since that one song in the '90s, have they?

Oh yeah…that song about turning on the radio.

If you add Garbage, then I may as well add Smashing Pumpkins…(unless they are played a bunch on satellite radio which I do not have)
and, Counting Crows, Big Head Todd, Hootie and the Blowfish, Sister Hazel, ack, forgot one more…oh, Wallflowers (?)

Are you making a mix, DJ list or writing an article / paper?
Letters to Cleo?
James? They only played once recently, though, but they sold it out.
When was the last time Garbage or Smashing Pumpkins only sold 600-900 tickets to a show priced at $25? Seriously?
CRACKER
CONCRETE BLONDE
maybe TRAIN

It's a potential article.  I'm bouncing some ideas around in my head, and am going to look to some of the fans on some of these bands' forums for some additional input.  I'm not sure what exactly is there… it's sort of a rough idea right now.

I know the last time Garbage came through they did two sold out shows at $25 each night so that's 1,100 people right there. Hell even Billy Corgan solo had more than 600-900 people and was $25 if I remember corrrectly.

2 nights… if we're talking the 930, wouldn't that be 2,200?

heres a better question. How long would you have to spare-change in your neighborhood to buy a pair of $25 concert tickets?  Remember to include service charges.

Per night :) Considering some people would be counted twice then or attending both shows
