Looking for a band that...

…fits the following description:

early 90's airplay with modest chart success
a smattering of albums since
somehow, the still hold a following that will sell 600-900 tickets at $20-25 whenever they come around, despite a lack of airplay in years

There's no right or wrong answer - just curious to see what artists better minds than mine might offer
Toad The Wet Sprocket
Gin Blossoms
Third Eye Blind

Good call on all.  3EB sells a bit more, at a higher price.  But, thanks for humoring my mental masturbation…

Any other suggestions here?
Nada Surf

That may be more like mid 90's, though.
Actually, they're exactly in the era I'm looking for… Nada Surf began in '92
candlebox
PJ Harvey

Edit: Weezer did actually have a few recent (terrible) hits.
Can Live still pull out 600-900 people?

I'm betting Weezer sells a lot more than several hundred tickets though, albeit on the strength of not so great songs…

Nice pull on PJ Harvey

At $20-25 - probably pretty easily.

of course

people underestimate the amount of mid-to-late 30-somethings who haven't bought an album in a decade who feel like going out to a show once a year
PJ Harvey's going rate is actually more than $20-25 now that I think about it.
I think you're right - since she hit Black Cat in 2000, and it was one of the tougher things of the season to get into.  She WAS $20-25 – now she's a bit more…
Didn't she play 930 for 40-50 after that?

Sun Volt's "Drown" enjoyed a decent amount of radio play.
Better Than Ezra

Catherine Wheel
House Of Love
Slowdive

Good luck getting any of them back together again.
i've always been surprised at how often cowboy mouth plays at the club for $25 or so, and how often it sells out. they haven't had much/any radio play since that one song in the '90s, have they?
what about Cake?  Everclear?
