what band have you seen most often?

The Dandy Warhols - double digits
Morrissey - Double digits
White Lies - getting very close to double digits considering theyve not been on the scene long
Of Montreal - no clue, but friends keep informing me of shows I saw them playing at
Probably saw Fugazi at least a dozen times as well….

Man, I really envy Bombay Chutney for seeing R.E.M. 33 times. I wish I could even come close to that, but I've only seen them 4 times.

Ditto! There are still so many R.E.M. songs I want to hear live that I haven't heard yet (E-Bow the Letter), but I'm expecting to hear it at the tribute show next week.

I've seen them do E-Bow with Patti Smith. :)

Any word on them showing up for the tribute show? I'll be there no matter what, but it would be nice if they made an appearance.

And I forgot about WSC - 19 times for them.
U2 by a country mile. Probably nearing 30 times, in 5 different countries, 6 different states and probably 18 different cities.

Social D would be a distant second around 15-20 times, maybe more if I counted festivals and Ness solo tours.

I saw REM for the 11th time last year.

More recently, I seem to be catching a lot of Band of Horses shows.
i cant believe Interpol isnt on anyones list, i mean, they have played DC 20 times in the last 5 years!
Aerosmith - 7 times
British Sea Power - 5?6?

Other than that most other bands I've only seen once, though there's a large handful that I've seen twice or 3 times.

Some of us are too young and broke to have seen many bands multiple times. My very first concert was Aerosmith on their Nine Lives tour in '98. Didn't start going to concerts seriously until 2001.
from memory i count 7 gbv shows, but none in the same venue
Aerosmith > 100
Sevendust > 50

Others in double digits:
Old Crow Medicine Show
Robert Randolph
Puddle of Mudd
Citizen Cope
Cheap Trick
Henry Rollins
Lou Reed
The Hives
Other I can't recall as of now.
Its over a hundred Grateful Dead shows for me, between Uncle Tupelo, Wilco and Son Volt about 30 shows, approx. 12-15 REM shows, Bonnie Raitt about 10 times, 10k maniacs/n. merchant-6-8 times,Dark Star orchestra 15-18 times, a bunch of artists at a handful a piece and at only two shows but they were huge-Bob Marley and the Wailers
Had not heard about this REM thing. Amazing! I may just decide to go, cheap tickets are still available. Seems hard to imagine the band not showing up for this…
double digits for me:
explosions in the sky - 28
mogwai - 14
radiohead - 12

close to double digits for me:
godspeed you! black emperor (little chance this will hit it)
smashing pumpkins (absolutley zero chance this will even increase again)
the flaming lips

Grateful Dead - exactly 100 times

if you remember exactly how many times you've seen the Grateful Dead……have you really ever seen them at all???? ;D
Wilco is my winner at 16 with Dando/Lemonheads next at 10.

Others pushing double digits include Spoon, Decemberists, Malkmus.
my top two would be luna and guided by voices. . .i would imagine that they are both somewhere in the teens.

after that? i'd probably have low around 8 and american analog set around 6 or 7….then i have sarah mclachlan at 6….yes, i'm admitting it. spiritualized is somewhere around 6 as well. then there's gonna be a slew of bands in the 3-5 territory.

i also had the great luck to see weezer twice as the opener.

were you dating a canadian chick at the time?
Were those 6 times pre/during/post-Lilith Fair?
ixk: for reals? You've seen PJ Harvey in double digits? What, did you see her in every US tour stop each time she comes here….ya know, every 3-4 years? ;)
gawd, I *miss* seeing godspeed you! black emperor in concert…

Better yet, tell us the furthest you've traveled to see Sarah and the guy to girl ratio of that trip?

This never gets old…
